  • Air Handling Units are crucial for Indoor climates. And the Indoor climates are determining whether people feel good.
Each person breathes about 15,000 liters of air every day. So it’s extremely important to ensure that air is properly heated, cooled, humidified and dehumidified. Air handling units, or AHUs for short, make all of this possible. There are any number of different AHUs. They vary according to the purpose for conveying the air. In general, they are designed to regulate the quality and temperature of supplied air.
Areas of application include rooftops and technical floors of large buildings, such as residential complexes and industrial buildings, with a high demand for fresh air. Their mode of operation is relatively simple: Outside air is drawn in, filtered and appropriately handled, for example heated or humidified, and is then transported via ducts to the designated room. An integrated heat exchanger prevents warm air from leaving the building, which saves energy costs. Additional energy can be saved by installing highly efficient fans with EC motors.
With efficiencies of well over 90 percent, these are far above the values of the European efficiency class IE5. To accommodate different installation situations, centrifugal fans are available in standard or short versions, for example. The space-saving installation of an EC FanGrid not only saves energy, but also ensures operational reliability.
