  • New Year's (both the lunar and Gregorian one) is coming, and in today's video, we will make one of my favorite tteokguk recipes. It is a Korean tradition to eat rice cake soup on New Year's, as we believe it helps us to age another year.
Today's tteokguk recipe is made with delicious beef brisket! It is delicious, belly-warming, and hearty... The perfect way to usher in a new year, full of love, happiness, and good fortune.
If you're more of a fan of the anchovy broth version, part 2 is for you, and the video can be found here: • Korean Rice Cake Soup ...

Side note: If you can only find a whole brisket at the store, here is a link that shows how to trim the flat from it. lilgrill.com/brisket-flat-vs-...

I recently discovered your website and it has been invaluable for me, as a non-Korean cooking for my Korean husband. We live in Korea, so I especially appreciate that you include the Korean names for things and in hangeul too. Lovely to see you posting new CZcams videos! ♥️

Aww.. thank you soo much!! Yes, I think about those who live in Korea and really can't find a way to understand or read everything. I will keep on posting more videos so stay tuned!!

What type of frozen 만두/ dumplings do you use? The 물만두 I see at the market is not that nice round shape I saw in your 떡만두국 recipe.

So you want to buy ones that are shaped round and is usually labeled as 김치만두 kimchi dumplings from the korean market.

Is there a Korean recipe for pulled chicken with a Gochujan sauce ?

So, there's no 'pulled chicken' in Korean food but I think you can certainly make a Gochujang sauce chicken. I don't yet have an exact video but you can watch my pork bulgogi one and use the same sauce from that one.
