To be fair the conditions must be exceptionally slippery because Barrett and Perofeta made unforced knock-ons as well. Now I think about it, both side's error count began to pick up in that second half.
To be even fairer to Clarke I think the No9 gave him a pass at the level with his shins.
Right wing for Chiefs is quick.

BB is probably at a twighlight in his position. Ive been saying it for ages. He can be revived by playing full back but at 1st five you need a steady driver and S Perofeta will and should be that man. Hell be wc hero too

Can we talk about Barrett not beng a good 10 option and Caleb Clarke perhaps not being the automatic 1st choice AB 11 anymore?
Not sure I agree with you on Barrett BUT 100% agree on Clarke. I've thought for a long, long time he's too inconsistent and his defence is pretty average, and he seems to choke during important phases of the game
Caleb is not (or never) a tackler. He only made the AB because he's a good ball carrier, but below an average tackler is the real problem they need to look at.
It's his carries that get clarke in imo being dropped might motivate him a lil he just seems less enthusiastic this year, looks a lil unfit maybe ? When fainganuku got through roger last week, Clarke had the angle to cut him off easily and he didn't even touch him .
This was Clarke's best game so far and he was still outplayed by Narawa. Got gassed on the outside a few times. He was good under high ball but had no impact at all apart from that try. And dropped the ball at the end.
@@kazamaclan447 that's because Faiganuku is an 11 and so is Clarke so it was Talea's corner to defend, not Clarke's. 11's are defended by 14 winger.

Feel sorry for the blues fans they hwd an absolute shocker. Barretts shocking kicking, try blunder and dropped balls, Perofeta also had a bad day at the office but hes no fullback, hes a 1st v and should be the blues first choice at first receiver. Chiefs made the least mistakes hence the win. Ggs to the chiefs on dmacs 100th.

im a huge barrett fan but i feel he needs a performance soon. in particular needs to rediscover confidence in his running game
He’s not a 10 really. Should give it a go in the centre of fullback
He's never been the same since they started futzing around with him at fullback. He's a ball-playing 10 (like Ntamack for France, or Carter in his early days); thinks like one, plays like one. He's never had as complete a kicking game as Sexton or Biggar, and his game management has often blown hot or cold. At 31, his top speed isn't what it was, and a couple of nasty head knocks in the last couple of seasons may have blunted some reflexes. He will probably move on to Japan after the world cup, and there'll be no shame in it at all. He'll still always be remembered for scoring the match-winning try in the 2015 final, which is more than can be said for most rugby careers.

Clarke sucks at defense. He's probably the easiest big wing in the world to tackle due to his contact balance... Too top heavy imo. We want him to be prime Julian Savea but his wing is ALWAYS defensive liability. He makes the wrong choice everytime. He doesn't deserve a spot over any other wing in NZ

Clarke is a massive liability in defence and attack, He cracks under pressure. He’s only good for bulldozing runs at the defence but needs to add a lot more to his game.

Maybe you were the only one screaming that........Because the amended law now reads: The post protector is no longer an extension of the goal-line and therefore Law 8.2 (a) will read: A try is scored when the attacking player is first to ground the ball in the opponents’ in-goal.

He’s outplayed both the other leading 10s in games where the forward packs were evenly matched. When are the AB selectors going to start considering him as the starting 10 on form? He just doesn’t go missing like Mo’unga, he’s got more vision than Barrett, and he’s the most X-factor player in NZ over the last few seasons. If he keeps improving as he has this season at 10 I don’t know how you could look past him?
