    Hey Nicole. I'm in Alabama so we been in the upper 70's for a few weeks now. I have a porch so I hang a lot of my plants. I have a tall shelf to hold some that don't hang..Last year they doubled in size, by keeping them outside, in our humidity.

      Agree hahaha. I put my plants in the shade and they rarely get sunburn. You might need to find a shady spot that doesn’t get direct sunlight.

    • @kts.plant.motherhood
      @kts.plant.motherhood Před rokem

      Yeah, they definitely need time to build up their defense against direct sun. Has to be done slowly over a couple weeks

    In the Northland and I'm repotting everything in preparation for putting everything outside closer to Mothers Day. My neighborhood also has Asian Jumping Worms so I have to be a lot more picky about where i put plants outside so i don't bring in the worms again 😢

    Hello Nicole, I enjoy your videos and I just think you have lots of beautiful and interesting plants. Especially your Hoya. Just a thought “, if you take the rollers off your rack it would sit flat and more sturdy. Then you may not have to use sand bags. 😊

  • @lindaschneidewind8164

    Great idea! Thanks for sharing

    Very cute! I would be so nervous when a middle of the night thunderstorm arrives 😮 I'm not in tornado alley just in the hot desert (low humidity) and none of mine can go outside ever unfortunately.

    11:38 You could get yourself like about 2 to 4U hooks and screw that to the wall and you wouldn't have to use the bags of soil to hold it there the U hooks would do just fine or just too really is what you mean

      I thought about it but don’t really want to do it that way since we got new siding last fall. Just wanted to make sure not to do anything to void the warrenty 😂🤣

    I want to put some of my plants outside for summer but one thing I never see mentioned is how do you bring them back inside without bringing in spiders , ants etc ?

    • @emilymajeski
      @emilymajeski Před rokem +2

      I have a huge screened in porch so I take them out each summer and then in early September I take a few at a time and spray them down with water, look them over, spray with Captain Jack’s Bug Brew to make sure no bugs hitchhike inside, and then I add systemic granules to the top inch of the soil and stir them in-that just helps ensure if anything was in the soil and laid any eggs they won’t survive. It works out really well!

    • @animallover1297
      @animallover1297 Před rokem

      @@emilymajeski thank you for your advice. Would that also kill spiders 🕷️ as I’m terrified of them (silly I know) . I was thinking of repotting any plants I take outside once brought back in .

    • @SunnySideUpwithNicole
      @SunnySideUpwithNicole  Před rokem +1

      I do what Emily my does! Spray them down with captain jack and then systemic (if I remember).

    • @lisaanglim9588
      @lisaanglim9588 Před rokem +1

      @@animallover1297 you could also spray them down with the garden hose (gently of course) before you do the pest spray and systemic.

      @@lisaanglim9588 I’m worried about what could lurk in the soil 😂
