You are 💯% correct in saying most of SHINee’s songs are where all that power is coming from and the very reason why they’re “untouchable”…
I agree that this song shows their...SHINeeness beautifully (and more than Don't Call Me, although I've come to love that as well).
Atlantis, Don't Call Me, and Ring Ding Dong ended up on my very first k-pop playlist several years ago, more or less by chance; I didn't know any groups or singers and just picked out some popular-seeming songs to try out.
I didn't at that time connect all three songs as being by the same group (and it was only several months later that I discovered Jonghyun and from there really started learning about SHINee). Don't Call Me dropped off my playlist quickly - catchy, but too angry for me at the time. Ring Ding Dong was ridiculous but so catchy I kept it in my playlist. Atlantis, however - the first thing I noticed was Onew's voice (not that I knew who Onew was) and how distinctive it is. The second thing I noticed is that they seemed to be dealing from a different deck of cards than everybody else. Smoother, more professional, a higher level in general... I didn't know how to describe it, but every single time Atlantis shuffled around it hit me again that these guys really knew what they were doing and did it extremely well. (An opinion that has only grown more solid over time. :-))
You mentioned Prince - if you haven't heard Jonghyun's Moon yet, I think you'll really love it (but just go for a lyrics video rather than the live performance fancam unless you want to be distracted by a very shirtless Jonghyun performing a very adult choreography... very few people can concentrate on the music rather than on watching him, I'm pretty sure. :-))
Thank you for your insight. There are a lot of good boy groups out there, but SHINee and Stray Kids are the only ones who had the charisma it win me over. IKON gave me that feeling on first listen, too, but I have to spend more time with them to know for sure.

On Dont’t Call Me or Hard albums the b-sides would be what I recommend for you. They have the SHINee vibe you like so much. SHINee’s is known for amazing b- sides songs. Would recommend you check them out. Maybe do some live contents. Thank you for this reaction. ❤

Onew is also on a new label . He is apart of Griffin entertainment and will have a new bubble msg service with fan on the Froom app. From the 15th. Taemin is with bpm entertainment with his own official website and CZcams channel. He will also be on the new bpm bubble msg service app for fans. Onew has officially returned and is totally back to full health and looking good.
As to this mv I've noticed no one ever comments on the eyes that move with all the marine life drawings. Go back and watch it you are the eyes follow them. Enjoy your upcoming journey through their solo discography . Nice to know you'll do Jonghyuns. His birthday is this Monday on the 8th and he would have been 34.

Atlantis has a great sound, but it's more like a summer party, which is quite nice to listen to. I understand that this type of sound suits you better, but I disagree with one thing. Everything that SHINee releases has something that no one else can do, the power of the sound is unique every time. VOICES one of a kind, and although you will see others cover SHINee, unfortunately they lack heart and essence

After so long... I have been waiting for your reaction to this song...
I don't know if you have noticed it or not in this song in the choreography they intentionally left space empty for jonghyun...most visible is where at the end of MINHO rap part everyone is keeping their hand others shoulder nd at the end of the queue beside Taemin there is Noone but he was still keeping his hand as if there is someone beside him
Also in end choreography where they were in rain dancing they kept jonghyun place blank where he always used to dance
Also the date on the MV when it is starting that date is jonghyun birthday date
Also, it took me forever to realize that 2 Taemins + Onew + Minho + Key = 5 members in the video!💙
