Thanks to that illness angle, Thorne's heart did not have to break... I was a bit too scared of how he would handle Caroline turning him down for the trip.
Ridge alone can't stand his ground with his mother and never will.

my god, Brooke is delusional, Ridge and Steph suggest (but not saying it of course) that Brooke moving in is his reaction to Thorne/Caroline going to a trip, but she deludes herself. Stephanie even though she doesnt want her there, she realises that this is lifeline for Caroline/Thorner

And Brooke knows full well about Thorne and Caroline’s pending vacation and so she doesn’t care that Ridge gets desperate and begs her to move in with him for a THIRD time? Lol She literally knows that Ridge still has strong feelings for Caroline and must have some awareness that Ridge is using her to get over Caroline.
I don't think that Caroline really cares much for Thorne anymore, regardless that she keeps the situation running (and keeps living with the Forresters).
She knows that Thorne is upset that they haven't been intimate for a month (since Ridge's prank) and that he wants to have that trip for them to get closer, in her daydream she expects Thorne to excuse her that she doesn't want to go because she does not want to leave his brother alone (with his current girlfriend),
but if it is just about work and she still cares about Thorne, why can't she compromise and tell him they could do a weekend trip and they will do the longer trip in two months or later (when it would be more convenient for Thorne, who assumingly can't leave then because of fashion businsess)?
If you can't grant your husband even 2 days or just one night of intimacy, then move out and file for a divorce. That refusal is just an acknowledgment that you do NOT want to "work on your marriage".
Mara, my problem with Caroline is she never meant those vows, she is not even trying, which speaks to her lack of integrity.
Say what you would about Brooke, whenever she was married to someone else, whilst in love with Ridge, she would try her best to work it out.
Caroline comes off as a selfish brat
After Ridge's "prank"...Caroline acts like she can't stand Thorne's presence. It's become blatantly obvious that she doesn't want him to the point that even her mother in law is calling her out.
Caroline is just plain cruel to her husband. She must know how much her rejection of him and her distance is killing him yet she strings him along. He plans this beautiful trip for them and she could care less. Just like when he shows her new homes he found to move into.
@@rosamariann At that time when Thorne showed her the brochures and wanted them to get a place of their own, I still had comprehension for her arguments.
It was a bit foreshadowing that Caroline didn't really want to move out of the Forrester Home - and while it might be seen as "independence" from her father, it isn't really "independence" if you live at your in-law's property - but at that time Caroline still had been affectionate to her husband, they had sex and had spent much time together as a couple.
But currently she knows how he feels about the repeated rejections and that his wife does not want any intimacy suddenly, and Caroline isn't even suggesting any compromise like a weekend trip (or trying to give her husband one special night) - instead stalling for time.

1) Caroline acted like a "victim" of a second rape and would resent Ridge for his prank - but she clearly doesn't and has defended Ridge, has told Stephanie that C. has been the aggressor (thinking it was her husband in bed) and Caroline still treats Ridge normal.
2) If Caroline might have intimacy issues with Thorne because of "guilt" and she would try to make up for it (for the supposedly unintentional "adultery")
-> but it is neither of these 2 and Caroline instead only treats Thorne as if she suddenly can't stand his presence and his touch, while she doesn't seem to care that much about his feelings any longer (even when both parents have been giving their warning about the sake of her marriage).
Caroline not being honest with herself knowing Brooke has moved in with Ridge. She! doesn't want this romantic rondevu wuth Thorne!
She! is trying to spare Thorne! She loves him as a friend! not a husband ! Since that night with Ridge!
That's true - and that's also why she should've been honest with not only herself, but with Thorne and ended their marriage then. She let it go on & on under the guise of "I don't know what's wrong" or "it's me, not you"....she was very cruel in that way!

I can't believe how some people get acting jobs....The actor who plays Thorne just did a very lousy job of acting like he was in pain. They sure didn't hire him for his acting.....maybe for his looks but definitely not his acting! My opinion only.....someone else might think it was brilliant acting.....I'm not sure how but I guess it's possible.

It was the 80s, men with decent jobs could provide for a family of four just fine, house, car and all included. I'm sure priviledge Thorn working for a multimillionaire business which his father owns would have provided Caroline just fine without her working.

Caroline has every right to be turned off. One side she has Bill and on the other Stephanie and whiny Thorne dictating what she has to do. She is a saint for not packing her stuff and disappearing.

Trollope Brooke moving into a family's home, she had no shame. Just giving up her cookie to Ridge. Chasing that "high value man" when she wasn't worthy. Dave was her equal/limit. Out of her league.
