  • SETÚBAL is a fascinating port city in Portugal, less than an hour from the capital, Lisbon.
We spent 2 weeks there in August and had such a great time that we'll be making at least 5 or 6 videos showing the highlights of this wonderful city!
In this second video we take a walk down to the beach... only to discover the sea mist has rolled in!
    We also:
    - check out the Maritime Mural wall
    - talk Choco Frito
    - find possibly THE BEST LUNCH DEAL in town
    - take a walk along the sea promenade
    - find the dolphin statues
    - check out an enormous auditorium in the middle of a square
    - AND eat the best value and possibly tastiest meal we've had in Portugal!
The next video will feature the stunning Fortelaza de São Filipe and the Casa da Baia, a walk around town and another excellent restaurant.
😁 Please LIKE and SUBSCRIBE if you enjoyed this video, and SHARE with your friends!
There will be many more videos to come as we are travelling indefinitely.

Our take a bus to Palmela Old Viladge near the Castell of Palmela...it´s a 15 minuts walk to the heighst spot of Castell, the "tower of the fire" and there´s a peculiar story of that fire...the Bus tickets will cost about 2.30€ per person..and you can see a lovely sight of Setúbal Tróia and the rest of the coast line to Grandôla...

09:25 this food is called "Mineiro" because it comes from the region of Minas Gerais in Brazil. It literally translates to "General Mines", and some of the its famous cities include Ouro preto (black gold), Ouro Branco (White Gold) and Tiradentes (take out teeth, a famous Brazilian revolutionary). I highly recommend visiting Minas, it's an incredibly underrated part of Brazil and Ouro Preto is basically like Portugal but hilly! (also has the most STUN-NING churches)

Hi. The information about the Praia da Saúde it's not very acurrate. The quality of the water its excellent in all Setúbal area (river and sea). The proof is that we have one of the few sedentary dolphin communities across Europe...wich means the water its fine. The Praia da Saúde was a former shipyard, so below the water it may still have some harmful materials. The real beaches are in Arrábida (the nearest one is Albarquel) and Tróia, across the river...The Arrábida beaches are stunning, but the water its a little cold.
Hope you get a nice sunny day to try them all. And yes, setúbal it's the best place...good food, culture, nature in Arrábida and Sado river and a slow pace of life, but if you want more excitement you have a train that puts you in Lisbon in about 45 min.

The water quality is actually very good, the restrictions are because of in that particular beach inside the water there are a few metal pieces from old boats, the major parts were taking down, but you can still find some at the bottom. So basically the sign says it's not recommended, not prohibited :) But the water quality is very good in there, The European Triathlon for the past few year have been done there. It's just a political thing, the local council don't want to be responsible for anything that happens there. Also in the Arrabida Mountain you can find fantastic beaches, you can go there by bus or taxi boats :) love that you enjoy it even with a misty day

We very much enjoy your videos with one exception and that is certain handheld camera movement. My wife suffers from ocular vertigo and she gets seizures from certain scenes which involve quick movement and abstract patterns. It's more common than you think. So when you hold the gimble with the wide shots and "swish and pan" rapidly it can be quite difficult for her to watch (me too in fact). And Portugals abstract walkways of contrasting tiles can be hypnotic on their own but adding "swish-pans-tilts" can be dizzy for the viewer. I know you're walking and talking while doing this but I would recommend you slow your twists, turns, and pans a bit; it would help her out a lot. Thanks!

Hello, and thank you for your comment and the feedback. Please bear in mind that we are two backpackers, travelling on a low budget and using very simple equipment. We don't have a gimbal and do all our filming with a GoPro 9, without any mods. We also aren't video editors and are teaching ourselves as we go... and I think our video quality has come a long way since starting our channel in 2018.
We will try to be aware of sweeping shots etc as know they can be uncomfortable for viewers, but we can only work with the knowledge and equipment we have. Thank you for your understanding. ~ Mandy

Mmm we love Churrasco 😋 it's usually around $40-50 AUD in Australia, so under 10 euros seems like a pretty good deal.

€9.90 is an amazing deal! 😃 Mineiro isn't like the churrasco restaurant we used to go to in Perth, which was $69 each for dinner!
That one involved them bringing around 13 different types of meat on spikes, and you had a green or a red sign to say if you wanted any. Mineiro is a buffet with loads of different dishes, and we enjoyed it just as much, if not more, thanks to the great quality and inexpensive price! 😃😁 ~ Mandy

@@FrugalTravellers You are allowed to swim in the river, the restrictions at that beach have to do to what's at the bottom of the river around that area as until very recently there used to be some small shipyards were the beach is located, the shipyards have been taken down and the area on land has been cleaned and transformed into a very pleasant space but the area inside the river(under water) still has all sorts of stuff that can eventually injure you. Proof of this is that only a few hundred meters down the river front you've got the Albarquel beach without any restrictions.
