Gifted Conviction is one of the newest Hunter exotic armor pieces available in Destiny 2. At first, I dismissed this exotic for not being very good. But after a second look, it is actually fantastic. Today, we're taking a deep dive into the inner workings of Gifted Conviction, what it interacts with, what it does, and its place in the current sandbox. Gifted conviction is amazing. Ascension is the issue. It needs an overhaul to work with mods and other abilities
It helps that this exotic has supreme drip. I love having it in my rotation!

Stopping in to shoutout my beloved Secant Filaments. They may never be meta, but they'll forever be one of my favorites
On Prismatic, triggering Ascension with Gifted Conviction mid Strand Grapple swing will dramatically increase your jump height and velocity. Its a significant mobility buff where mobility is already defensive for hunters. Not to mention that its essentially a quadruple jump in of itself.

I’ve been loving it on mono arc atm with the much faster class ability regen compared to facet of hope plus throwing in fragments like spark of beacons and the other fragment that generates orbs while getting kills while amplified to be blinding everything and generating orbs for dayz on top of all the jolting
I too shrugged this exotic off at first, but I went back and messed around on the Arc subclass instead of Prismatic and actually had a lot of fun playing with the Jolt & Resistance!
I am in love with ascension & this just makes it hit even harder.
Try gifted conviction on prismatic with an arc conductor ergo sum.
You should try Lucky Raspberry. Voltshot bow from the raid is solid and the build overall is pretty decent in GMs.
Just read your comment and went to go make a build in dim, only to remember that arc conductor ergo sum does the same thing for special ammo essentially lol.
@@michaelferrarini1463The jolt interaction would be more important to both lucky raspberry and gifted conviction than ergo sum's independent lightning aoe, no?
@@Zevox144 I was just comparing lucky raspberry directly to what ergo sum does. Lucky raspberry spams arc bolts which allows for easy ad clear with chained lightning without providing damage resistance. In my opinion, ergo sum does this better without taking your armor slot. Of course using a voltshot weapon would be more beneficial for gifted conviction, but that’s not what I commented on.
6:30 I disagree personally, I loved ascension from the get go and felt like you can actually feel how hard it hits

These seem complicated to run. Can you run over differences arc vs prismatic. And give somekind of gameplay loop too! Awsome video. Just crafted my own.
Your arc spec in the dim link has Spark of Amplitude. Change that out (especially since you are using the Indebted Kindness) for Spark of Beacons. It turns Voltshot into a bigger monster than it already is. It's also has great synergy with Ergo Sum. This is the best build for using Indebted Kindness with Volshot as a primary as the reload to proc Voltshot is no longer a factor.
Mono Arc just makes me sad now lol
You can gain similar dmg resistance on prismatic with the different types of armor and still use another exotic, i just dont feel like ascension hits hard enough, pluss even at x4 and other things you get melted in the air.
You get like 15% DR iirc while amplified
honestly amplified should give reload speed
Noob question. How can I get past dlc exotics? I haven’t gotten any from engrams
You can get every exotic from Rahool's exotic engram focusing in the tower! The newest exotics require you to reset his vendor rank. Focusing needs at least 1 exotic engram, which you can farm in legend lost sectors. Some will also need an exotic cipher, which you can get thru Xur's xenology quest, the season pass, or a couple other sources. Alternatively, all the previous season exotics can drop from Vex Incursions in Neomuna. It's a random event, but there's a discord server that sends out pings when one is active.

Idk who told you defense ia strong rn. All those options you mentioned are good for players who ant kill things fast enough. But good players know the game is offense offense offense. Kill things as they spawn not run around and stay alive.
