Is there a usable crop mode without drop in quality, like in stills mode? Say a one on one read out of 12mp/true 4k, making the lens rougly a 75mm ff eq?
No there is not, the 6.2k is already a crop. The might have done a true crop in 4k and hd But didn’t , you might as well shoot in 6.2k and the crop in post :)

I bought it for video. It's amazing on a gimbal.
I have not used it in a gimbal but I guess you shoot in 4k then for better rolling shutter
