    Fun project! Will show this to the high schoolers I work with to see if they want to do something like this or similar to it. Thanks !

    I've had these heels laying around FOREVER and I never wear them because they're a teeny bit too big. So what better use than to turn 'em into a sweet project? What LED fashion projects have you done, and what would you like to see next?

    Great video that brings fashion and electronic together! I really liked what you did tho i would make a few changes. Go even smaller with AtTiny85 SMD and run at 3.3V with analog led strip, no point wasting a digital strip. Thanks for the idea, think I will hack a set of the wife's heels 😝

    Yanno I have some heels that I never wear... they might be a bit too short... and I'd probably still never wear them... but this is so cool I'm tempted to try.

    holy smokes arduinos have gotten a lot smaller since I've played with them! I played with the Uno a number of years ago. :) very cool to have the small form factor ... get that analog(?) sensor going on ... very neat project. :) thanks for sharing

      Yeah... even the minis and micros are tiny, although the Trinket which I'm using here is definitely one of the smallest.

    At first I thought this was a Naomi Wu build video

      First it was Sarah Petkus who tried to be the next Naomi Wu, now Xyla is a contender as well?

      @@NiHaoMike64 Sarah Petkus was on YT way before Naomi Wu, I love Naomi's channel.

    • @NiHaoMike64
      @NiHaoMike64 Před 4 lety

      @@Bob-rd2bq From what I can tell, Sarah didn't get into the "showing off" stuff (on video at least) until Naomi has been on the scene for some time.
      Also interesting is that Naomi is part "robot" (a real cyborg) but didn't officially say it on video until after two other tech girls (Simone Giertz and caitlinV3) announced that they became cyborgs. Recently, Piper Blush hinted at being part robot, but that just might be acting.

      They’ve had shoes like this for awhile. I wore a pair to homecoming in HS

    The effect seems to work better if the shoes are transparent, as a friend of mine did.

      Yeah! I hadn't seen Naomi Wu's version until just now-- thanks for sharing! But I thought about clear and decided I liked the underglow more than the smack in your face, although it's still pretty in your face so who knows...

      leds are quite low power but you're also supplying the arduino with 3.3V I think. with those 2 coin cell batteries ... maybe in the dozens of hours?

    If you used a shoe with a thicker heel you could route out a space for all of the electronics in the heel and not have to have it next to your foot.
