For me the G502 is just the perfect blend between gaming/productivity and shape. And I couldn't use a mouse without infinite scroll anymore.
I'm sure it's not the mouse for the esports crowd who are chasing grams, mousepads etc.
But for general use it's a beast imo
Not just for general use. It's really OP for workflows as well with the ability to do custom macros and keystrokes on different buttons
I'm pretty much exclusive to esports and love mice like these. I absolutely hate this era of making everything 50 grams, still do muuuuuch better than wannabes with model Os.
About 6:47, the wire on the G502X is extremely thin and flexible, much better than most stock braided cables. Still, I find the mouse uncomfortable for gaming and it feels cheap for the price (materials and such). Also the clicks on my unit sound very pingy and resonant, maybe because the wired version is hollower. I suppose those are issues that arise with weight reduction.
Idk why someone would suggest a G PRO for someone that's looking for a G502 or say the G502 is bad just because it doesn't fit a specific standard for FPS games. They're two different form factors and there are users for both of them. For my use case the 502 is still an unbeatable mouse (and that's why I'm using the same 502 Proteus Core for over 7 years now). I personally bind my left click extra buttons to crank my volume up and down and now that I'm used to it, I just can't live without those buttons (so Razer Basilisk was never a choice). The side clicks for the scroll wheel are great to bind it to the middle button and spam it when needed in games where you can ping things, it's way more ergonomic then moving all your fingertip to the top of the wheel and press it. The "sniper" button is great to use as a third lateral button to set up abilities and ultimates for games like Apex and Valorant. I really don't get all this fuzz around featherweight mouses or saying that some type of mouse doesn't fit for FPS games, it's all about skill and anyone knows that a skilled player would beat with $5 mouse any average player over there, so let's worry less about the form factor and more about your own preferences and comfort. And overall, having extra buttons is always better to work with softwares like Adobe CC too.
Could not agree more!
Agreed, i find this mouse even more productive than many "productivity" mice because of those extra buttons. I map so many things to those side DPI buttons... font size up/down for office programs, hide/unhide for CAD, all kinds of crazy keybind combos with g-shift... even in games those buttons are super helpful (i.e. utilities for FPS games). honestly the best all-round mouse if you don't demand the "ermagerd need to get
Man I have the proteus core too up until now. I dropped my mouse and the scroll wheel is fucked. I couldn't agree more with the button layout because I have the pointer buttons for primary and secondary guns for FPS games since I had a hard time reaching for 1 and 2 on my keyboard back in 2015.
I jokingly said that I'd probably be fucked if Logitech stops making the G502 because I got used to the button layout -- especially when I edit too.
@@alvin5122 man, my 502 X just arrived and feels great compared to the old one, if you're thinking about replacing with it, go for it. the scroll wheel is way better and overall it feels better in my hand and grip
Yes, once you assign shortcuts that you use daily to the extra buttons (the g shift modifier button was a genius idea), you'd be hard pressed to switch to another mouse without that same functionality. The ergonomics are great for me. I tried a G102 for a bit but thought the form factor was terrible and didn't think much of the lighter weight in the games I played (RTS and Osu). I certainly won't mind it being lighter, but the other factors are more important to me.
WHERE IS MY G502 SUPERLIGHT
Ong
G502 x superlight releasing november 2022
My dream mouse no cap. I have a GPX. I love the low weight but honestly i think the exta binds on the G502 are worth it's extra weight. Having the ability to use those extra binds while moving or repositioning and not needing to take fingers off WASD can give you a huge advantage in a lot of games.

@@ashy3340 no shit
I am rewatching this Video and have few things to say:
I was using g5, g500, all of g502 proteus core/spectrum/hero/lightspeed and now I am using G502X (I even try G pro X superlight, it was too small and slippery and I could not go with 2 side buttons that feel awfull - I need 3).
As for side buttons I use them all to offload my left hand from keyboard, because after surgery it lost some connection to fingers (and I am not a cheater).
So after a half year of using here is my take (Dont forget guys, that it is subjective):
1 The battery hold twice longer ( with average 12H of use everyday it holds like month) and charges for 1-2 hours.
2 The buttons are definetly better (feel more jumpy, clicky, sounds a bit clicky too). No more problems with mechanics as my first two of G502 lightspeed had release click problems (one for ADS side button, and second for RMB - Logitech replaced both of them).
3 The shape is much more ergonomic, especially with a little bump Logitech have added to support ring finger to hold on (I cant emphasize more on how better the grip feels due to this little bump), that makes mouse less slippery. In addition flatter surface make my big hand lying down better instead round shape it was before.
4 Weight is feelable lighter.
5 PFT scates are better than any previouse (they are white now), but after market ones still could be better like CorePads (I did not test it, may be some one did and can add to this).
6 Side buttons are different in location and shape, they comeout more, but after a week you get use to it after g502 lightspeed.
7 The rubber coating is much much better and not collecting hand grease. G502 lightspeed was almost imposible to remove grease from all these triangles.
8 Also sidebuttons are not collecting hand grease as g502 before did.
9 Wheel - The only thing is worse - more slippery, which make it worse feeling to scroll.
10 May be less important, but still. On/Off button is bigger, which makes it eazy to turn on/off with 1 hand thumb instead trying to use your fingernail.
I did not talk about sensor or connection, because it one of the best and had 0problems with 0 lettency problems.
All the software staff are the same and Logitech G hub is great, automatic switching profiles from game to game, and more. You can store profiles on the mouse itself if you want to, so it travel with you from pc to pc without installation of ghub on other machines.
I was using Artisan Hayate Otsu (soft and mid) both are great, but soft is better if you are using wrist movement and not forearm movement, your right hand bone, that lay down on the pad hurts less. For forearm movement it be better to use mid, it has better speed and less deformation from the weight of your arm and mouse.
I hope I have covered everything.
Do you need to put the dongle in your PC or can you use the G502 X PLUS with the USB cable only?
Is the thumb rest on the 502x the same size as the older models? IIRC the original wasn't quite big enough to stop my thumb from dragging on the mouse mat
the first logitech mouse to add USB-C was the G303 Shroud if I remember correctly.
Oh yeah true I lowkey forgot that mouse existed
Are these revisions any heavier than the OG? I can't really use lightweight mice due to hand injury (holding xm1 for example feels like gripping air and that poor rodent has been flown over the desk too many times).
Logitech removed weight system, the only "heavier" would be RGB one
boadrdzy have u tried the HyperX Pulsefire Mat? Im very curious about this mousepad i hope u have review of it someday. Godbleess and great video *thumbsup*
I have this mouse and the Corsair MM350 pad. What skates would you recommend for a better glide?
Is the scroll wheel infrared as well or still the old mechanical style?
whats the name of the mousepad featured in this video? the one with the cobra, moonlight and waves @ 3:45
probably one of esports tiger mousepads
What mousepad are you using Mr Boardzy?
I played with a g502 really well for many years. It honestly is a pretty good mouse because it is extremely comfortable. It fits your hand like a glove
After my proteus core i bought a Deathadder v2 because i loved the older ones. Didnt like it my hand was hurting and mouse felt too light. Then got a Endgame Gear xm1 rgb, the god of claw grip (i am a claw gripper) , comfy but ultimately wasnt precise for me, i micro adjust on fps games with only my wrist, also even use fingers, that worked flawlessly with g502 but not with xm1 , my aim was less precise and jerky using 400 dpi and low sens on fps games even.
Finally decided to go back to the basics and ordered a g502x wired (half the price but also i dont care about wireless and or rgb i can plug itto my k70 keyboard anyways) im waiting for its arrival today i hope ill like it but sounds like i will. Wasnt taking into account the shape, only the weight.
My G305 battery lasts for months and charges in about 5 seconds, because that's how long it takes to pop in a new rechargable AA battery. Can we have optical switches for a revised G305 and G604 please Logitech?
Really great review, i want to buy this mouse right now after that, I am looking for this...
why do people hate on 502s?
logitech needs to implement optical switches on all their future mic release especially a revised g305 version coz the current one is awesome but plagued with double click issue
honestly i would never buy a logitech mouse again. i love trying diffrent micro switches
I currently have a G500 which indicates in which dpi setting you currently are.
Does the G502 X have a similar feature? Since I don't see any lights on there to indicate that.
No, only 1 led to show battery status, you can also turn it off
i know its a bit late, but when you press the button to switch the dpi it will display a colored LED for a couple of seconds between the mouse buttons
@@BenBensen293 Thank you. :)
Hey man... What if I buy a V2 pro instead of a g pro as my first wallet breaking mouse purchase?
Watch my viper v2 pro vs gpx superlight vid, both are great options
why isnt there a market for a mouse shaped like this but at the hyper low weights we are getting from lesser known companies?
i’m glad you’re staying hydrated
I tried for years to get used to a lighter mouse I have tried the g303, g305, g203, finalmouse v2, orochi v2, mm710, roccat kone pure ultra. I have never been able to aim as good with my g502. I don't understand why.
Im starting to think g502 is addictive. The shape wins over the weight.
Im saying this cuz it happened to me, as a claw grip 2 years using xm1 rgb i just can't get used to it i feel disarmed on fps games while my g502 felt like an actual aimbot on my hands.
This is why i ordered the g502x wired now.
I used light mice for years and now that I have a g502 i notice I'm noticeably better at FPS games. 100 grams is probably the sweet spot for me and I'll stick to similar mice for a long time. The extra buttons are great too, i can have so many macros on at once
When are you going to post your review of that beautiful mousepad?
gonna include it in an esports tiger mousepad roundup, either this week or next
I just want to add, since I have no issues with wired mice, i went with the budget 502x wired, mostly because its almost half the price of the wireless but more importantly it is 31 grams lighter than my old g502 and after playing with the 502x I cannot see myself ever going with a lighter mouse also since I cannot go without all the extra buttons anymore :)
After 7 years of the g502 the x model is just an improvement on the perfect mouse for me
Does it experience weird double clicking / scroll wheel issues ever since you bought the g502x?
@@joeywilhelm6123optical switches don't double click
I wish all of them were wired or at least optional
Hello ! Between this one and the G Pro X Superlight which would you choose?
Superlight obv.
I play cod everyday for hours, probably an unhealthy amount honestly . I have used a lot of different gaming mice and I always come back to the g502, the light mouse to me means nothing, as a matter of fact I feel like it makes my aim worse, could be the high sense I play on but I have put in countless hours with super light gaming mice and for me they aren’t anything special . The x has a really solid click latency and the same sensor as the super light, it’s person preference in my eyes, I’ve never seen the supposed clear advantage for fps gaming and if you are someone who feels like they need all the extra mouse buttons this is the best choice for you .
I bought one and the click sound is too loud. It's like a metallic sound. Is that normal?
I find the clicks more deep like a keyboard. I don’t know why but it’s really nice.
Please make a video for the best super light budget wireless gaming mice
Dude that mousepad looks sick what mousepad is that
gonna get this as my productivity mouse
Was the g303 shroud not usb c first?
I think the biggest improvement is done to the wired version but they fucked up with rubber wiring
Agreed, 89g isnt bad at all for the size and features tbh
@@boardzy i actually needed some mouse advice so I am thinking of getting a wireless mouse the price range around 100 max 150 dollar but it should big since I have large hands, 120mm or more and bit wide ( i actually found Razer viper ultimate a good choice for this)
Do u have suggestions?
@@boardzy currently I am rocking a g502 hero prev gen model (the brick)
And have gotten used to it over 2 yr
Having had an old G502 Proteus core retire from the common _double click of death_ problem around a year ago and only just getting around to replacing it with a G502 X. I wonder if it was maybe possible to crack open the older 502 and swap it with the 502 X...
One thing that is 1000% certain though is the Ghub absolutely sucks balls. Its needlessly over complicated and I just spent the better part of 30-40mins manually setting up all my gaming profiles again. With LGS, everything would have been done in a few clicks.
I'm still waiting on a mouse that doesn't make me awkwardly cramp in my pinkie finger to avoid it rubbing the mat
Summary:
If you play FPS games professionally (actually professionally - if you're here watching this video, you probably don't count), then get a mouse designed for professional FPS players.
If you are literally anyone else, there is no better mouse that exists.
The thumbnail of the brick is reality 😂😂😂
i believe g303 SE also uses USB-C. Its a new era for Logitech
the mouse is great for halo, as you can put the fire, mele, nades, zoom, pickup weapons and equipment, switch nades, switch weapons, use equipment, and mark enemies on the mouse. besides, the cost about half in my country when they are on sale.
While not good for competitive FPS gaming, I still think the G502 is a good allround mouse. I used the old one before switching to a "2 Mouse setup" with the MX Master 3 for office work and the DAV3 for gaming. Still there are some games where additional buttons come in handy (I quite liked it in Warframe for Macros etc.)
Is that an Esports Tiger pad?
How do u rate its feet comp to tiger ARC v1
I hope Logitech brings a new version of gpx, maybe even lighter would be nice.
The fact it looks worse in my opinion and its lighter puts me off, i do need to either replace my lightspeed or just swap switches since mine is like quadruple clicking now
can you swap the circle on the bottom with the superlights ptfe circle?
Pretty sure you can cause both have to support powerplay there but i dont have a gpx so cant check
I own a gpx and a g502 and the cost about the same, regarding that the gpx is outdated and still costs 100 bucks it's nice to see the g502 x plus come down to 100 where not the money desides which one to get and honestly I hate the gpx, got mine like 1 year ago, I hate the shape sent it in because of double clicking and stuff and yeah it's a decent mouse, but it just feels cheap
Whats with the 23 gram?
G502 vs Razer Basilisk v3 which one is better?
Both are 35 euro on sale rn.
Razer basilisk v3 is better. Don't waste your time with Logitech.
still waiting for G403 Superlight
as an escape from tarkov sweat this mouse is perfect, the extra buttons are well needed although i do see why other fps games wouldn't benefit from having all those extra buttons

I have a Frankenstein G502 SE shell with the insides of my original Proteus Spectrum (the original SE switches had double clicks) and a G900 wheel that I might upgrade to this. I was expecting to use the Frankenmouse forever until this dropped last month.
My G502 X switches/buttons are very loud and are feeling hollow compared to the old G502 ones.

Heavier, but you get more buttons
This version is clearly inferior to the X Plus. Having Lightsync at your fingertips, the gamerglow will boost your aim by 10%.
Is there a better mouse than this one that also has hyper scroll?
Roccat.
Boardzy: don’t buy it for FPS
Me: buys for CSGO
I had very good aim with it in csgo, it's great for higher dpi because of it's weight. lightweight mouse isn't good for high dpi because then your aim is very inconsistent and you are mostly overshooting targets.
X plus (RBG) version is cheaper than X (non-RBG) version right now, so I guess I will have to pay less for the heavier version :(
my thumb dont fit under the buttons on the left side of the mouse, the area is smaller then the old mouse :( very uncomfortable, shame
The only time you need over 1000hz polling rate for mouse is csgo and valorant because they support more then 1000hz polling rate with the raw input on in the setting. Also the Logitech g502 series is a great league of legends mouse.
besides moba games, g502 is also great for melee fps games like mordhau or chivalry.

I still use a G502 for FPS because I'm so used to it. I'm not convinced to switch to the light mouse trend when I've used a g502 for so long. It would be so jarring to change lol
in the end it comes down to shape. Shape is king and if the g502 fits you than thats perfect. i have to say that i dont notice a difference between a 70g mouse and a 100g mouse.
But then when i hold my Starllight tenz it is something compleatly different and absolutely worth it.

Its a nice general mouse for destop usage and MMO's. But for FPS/TPS and action games its fairly meh in comparison to whats out there. Its shape and weight being not ideal for that. But for those who like the shape and don't mind the weight its not terrible. And wouldn't say its a bad mouse overall, just a decent general use mouse that can game, just not that great for shooters.
if u are working with AutoCAD or some other software where u need to use a middle click don't buy this series of the mouse... The middle click is tough to press and it can go right and left so u can make a mistake very easily... also coz of the hardness to press it, it is not precise and when u are working fast middle-click doesn't hold the whole time so u are drop view very often
Does the scroll wheel still rattle when you shake the mouse?
Nope
Thanks for mentioning that the wired version still uses grippy rubber cables, fuck that. So far as I'm concerned they're charging $160 so that you can get USB C like 5 years too fucking late.
@boardzy you should do a mousepad speed tier list from fastest to slowest.
What's the point of that

So it's not bad at all? got it
It's strange how they completely switched to rubber cables, I had the mk1 G502 and that had braided cable and a full metal scroll wheel, both of those got downgraded with the mk2 onwards
its not strange at all since new rubber cables are super think and flexable, i even prefer them over ANY stock paracord ones coz of better flexability. full metal was rly weighty (13 grams) AND not best grip too
the first 3 g502 versions (the proteus core, proteus spectrum and hero) had the all metal scroll wheel and the braided cable (the hero had a significantly better braid on it than the first 2), but the lightspeed came with the lighter g900 wheel with the rubber surface on it and a non braided charging cable bc they probably guess that you'd only use that for charging once every 2 weeks or never use it and get a powerplay
