Thank you for this inspirational video. I had a bunch of seedlings that I have extreme bent. The results have been great but want to make smaller trees now. Shohin and mini are my passion now.

We have many varieties of Juniper here in California yet they don't do much for me yet (Maybe someday I'll get the bug), the Pines I find easy to get excited about. I have some huge American Cypress trees to push my personal limit of space but the small trees just make sense in today's world where everyone doesn't own land for a garden. Hiruma, You make small pines that are inspiring. Please don't ever think we are all bored with the same specie of tree. I never feel like I'm seeing the same work.

A mi no han dicho que a los pinos, NO es bueno hacerles tantas vueltas, qué esto sería mejor para los Junípero. En estos trabajos NO hay una pequeña contradicción.❓perdones mi inocencia. 私は貝塚イブキを挿し木して、２０㎝ぐらいに伸ばしたものを材料に畳み込みの練習をしています。
イブキだし、自分で挿し木して作った材料だから、いくらでも練習できます。
曲げすぎて折れても枯れても、材料はいくらでもあるし、シャリも練習し放題です。
でもイブキは糸魚川とはかわいさが違う。
愛情っていうのかな。
情緒っていうのかな。葉性が全然違うもん。＾＾

Hiruma-sensei has found his niche! Super small pots and super small trees is the future of bonsai!
The way he wires seems very careful for these trees (using pliers, not bending around thick branches by hand) and very evenly spaced, wiring around elbows created by the "folding and tucking" of branches.
I wonder, is this the secret to avoiding failures due to breaking or tearing for this kind of "fold and tuck" (畳み込む) wiring? It's great work and I'd love to see the results in a year or so's time!
