She's just as charming in real life. I live in Winnipeg and worked as background on that movie. During the movie we were waiting in a parked bus to avoid the -50 below cold and she asked us if we were doing ok. We were out of the wind so as native Winnipegers being away from winter wind made it tolerable.
Especially when they were in the woods fighting with the overalls after he cut it open she called him Harry instead of his movie name....that was a blooper left in the movie...movie is hilarious. I have watched it like 20 times. Love it

Hey, look in the mirror and then look at a photograph of yourself 15 - 20 years ago. Any change? As people age they lose baby fat, eyes seem smaller. Most people in the business take care of their skin more than civilians. It's not like she's soaked her face in botox or had a major nose job (like some actors). Renee Zellweger looks pretty good. I haven't had any work done and I look a bit different than I did 15 years ago, I'd say at least as much as she does.
Her eyes are that way because she grew up in a rice growing community. Since they ate rice so often, the constipation factor was inordinately high, and people often strained and squished their faces while trying to go to the toilet. In the process, their eyes became squinty.

A lot of folks raved about her performance in Cold Mountain, but it was an imitation of Granny from the Beverly Hillbillies!
Listen, she got older, it's been 15 years, people get older ....her operation helps her look younger, but it's the years and the aging process that changed her....
