I know I should just not recommend this channel for me to watch but I’m just gonna say this instead and still do that If you play the game or watch people play the game you already know you cannot save the sun beam even if you cure yourself before it arrives, it is a set thing that happens, somebody even tried to remove it from the game Files and it still happened. I know you’re only doing this for attention specifically in the way of views and likes and what not and sure it even works but don’t do something that someone can just easily look up in less than five minutes

It was just a quick fix that was added to fix the bug where the gun would activate even if it's already disabled, but I wish they would make a secret ending where the sunbeam actually rescues you. Almost nobody will get it on their first playthrough without prior knowledge, it would be a pretty fun thing to do imo and would make more sense
I mean in reality trying to go through the debris could be catastrophic and their a trading ship not a Military ship their durable sure but debris as big as that of the aurora could cause enough damage for something to go very horribly wrong it would have been suicide
I think its because we can choose to never take any distresses signals message from the radio and even if it true we can even choose to never do the scripted scenario and rushing the lava zone and cure the Cara bacteria before repairing the Aurora and at the end we can deactivate the quarantine platform and still being able to escape the planet and if you don't wish to repair the reactors core from the Aurora, the game will still lets you escape the planet because basically it does not change a lot of thing in game except the fact of the radiation will disappear or will still exist but only if you are very close to the Aurora so yep, we can go collect any destroyed lifepode who crash if you already know there emplacement they are and collect her ressources

I forgot about it and several mo the later, opened it up, wasn't sure where I left off. The sunbeam arrived, and I got this message and learned an update fixed it. I was bewildered.

If I played the game, I'd probably deliberately ignore the radio at a certain point and do this on purpose. It would make the game a little harder since I'd have to find a few lifepods on my own but it wouldn't feel right to me to let the sunbeam get shot down knowing that I can avoid it.
Debris in orbit are actually super dangerous and another ship that is not qualified/does not have qualified personnel could theoretically get hit in entry or exit and add a whole ass space ship worth of mass to the debris field making it actually impossible for any ship to enter the planet
If you didn't deactivate the canon, there wasn't a debris feild. Fictional world, the program is the game master and can work out what to throw at the players.
Because the Neptune was specifically designed to run through the debris field with minimal damage, and thanks to the relatively small size it could use the Cyclops shield to further mitigate the damage
It would have been so cool to have an alternate ending where the sunbeam takes you home. It would make sense too, since you've basically beaten the game by freeing the sea emperors.
I just did this on my first ever play through. I thought going to the mountain island and exploring the base was necessary and not just an easter egg lol

Some versions ago, if you disable the cannon and the sumbean is coming, the weapon still was going to do the shooting animation (and the sound) but the cannon was down, this happend when the timer was less that 10 or 15 minutes. (This happend to me)
As i remember, in earlier versions of Sabnautica, if you disable the weapon before SunBeam arrival, gun just turn on, blast the ship, and turn back off 😂😂

Then you've got a certain amount of time before they leave, and if you launch your rocket before that time, you'll get that new ending.
