Alice Springs resident calls for media and politicians to 'get on the same page' amid crime crisis

  • Alice Springs resident Rachel Hale has called for media outlets, government organisations, and politicians to “get on the same page” as the town has had enough.
    Ms Hale was overcome with emotion on Tuesday while discussing the crime crisis in Alice Springs as she also called a stop to the “political jostling”.
    “Let me just say if things were working as they were now with all the government agencies trying to tackle this problem, we wouldn’t be here,” she told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
    “We need to all come together now and stop all of this political jostling.
    “It’s not about you, it’s about Alice Springs, it’s about these kids, it’s about Northern Australia, it’s about every single community, please.”

    What can we do to help?
    When I was working for NT Health in the 1980's it wasnt uncommon for kids to drink the dregs of alcohol from their parents left laying around bottles in the fringe camps. Glue, petrol sniffing and sexual Abuse was just as bad back then. This was the cause for the Stolen Generation so now we have come the full circle. A lot of us have stories to tell. I have PTSD from an incident that happened when I was 10yrs old thanks to an Aboriginal man thinking we were from the Government come to inspect his camp. This was done to keep Alice clean during Tourist seasons. The Youth Centre is what kept the community strong. Everyone went there.

In tribal law, retribution is far reaching, women and children are fair game. If they have been wronged according to tribal law then any family member of the person that wronged them is fair game. And according to tribal law they have done nothing wrong in their acts of retribution. That is why some of the elders believe that their people should not be incarcerated. There are more Aboriginals trying to live tribal ways within a white man's society than people realise. Finally it is coming out in the open! Finally a conversation is happening. But it took a small number of courageous blacks and whites to bring this all out into the open. It's a bloody tragedy but at least now that it's out in the open, discussions between blacks and white might be able to stop the madness.

    Grog, Domestic Violence, Sexual Assaults, Stabbings, fights, theft, substance abuse (Petrol, glue, methylated spirits) The crime rate in Alice Springs has always been high. Many Aboriginal communities have a sort of death fatigue, there's always a funeral happening and the largest majority of it is from the above mentioned issues. The above also makes people not want to invest anything in those communities because the moment something is built it gets destroyed, people that went to work and help ended up being assaulted. I've told these facts to many people but you could probably guess the responses and reactions I've gotten so I just went on with my life well away from the place. As a normal citizen moving away, giving up on telling these stories to enlighten people was just the only cause of action I could do for my own peace of mind and moving forward. Systems fail when they do not tap into the needs of the people and many Aboriginal lead with white fella help (Dealing with "White fella" admin/paperwork etc) programs that were successful got scrapped because someone living in some other part of the country didn't like it.

Everyone blames the Government, yet not one person has suggested what they do to fix this seemingly unfixable situation. TikTok, CZcams, etc are all to blame for glorifying this violence. I know for a fact, that Aboriginal booze and drug runners deliver to communities right across the APY lands, where the SA Government spends countless amounts of money and dedication to providing better living conditions than many people living in the cities, such things as building a huge swimming pool with green grass and all amenities, and a huge fence to keep the kids out. NO SCHOOL- NO POOL. Simple, all the latest computer tech, air-conditioned rooms, you name it, sports oval, Hospitals, Kindergartens, baby health clinics, wonderful places to live. What more can the Government do? Laws were passed to protect Aboriginal youth, now you can't control them, good luck with that. The answer is not blaming the Government, it's coming up with solutions, any suggestions?

      It should be. But if you are from another country making this observation then there is no comparison to countries where blacks have the opportunity to be educated and enjoy the same lifestyle as whites. It's just not the same in the centre of Australia, or in remote regions. The same opportunities are available to them but they don't want what the white man is offering, they want to live within their tribal laws. Tribal laws and retribution. That makes anything they do that we perceive as criminal, justifiable by tribal law. Many of these people are not educated, because their families don't think it's important. There are those in remote areas that speak only their tribal language or their 'kin' groups. There are hundreds of tribal languages. It really is complicated. Suggesting that we should learn to speak Aboriginal is like suggesting that in Europe we should learn European.

    3 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
    2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
    3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
    4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
    5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
    6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
    7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
    8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
    9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their's also was.
    10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,
    11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.
    12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
    13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
    14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
    15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
    16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
    17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

    I wonder how many of these kids were jabbed ???? Can we say side effects ??????

      This has been going on far longer than Covid. I have my own reservations about the jab but growing up in Alice Springs nothing has changed. People maybe pointing out the last three years but everything this woman mentioned in her career for over a decade and i was there well before that.

      Always drunken and anti social behaviour every weekend, you need to get out more. Or is your point its only happening in the Springs? If so you are delusional.
