no cause im still furious about the jenna/toby plot and how they literally never addressed that she blackmailed toby into being with her!!!! like that boy was assaulted and they just never talked about it!! just makes me think that marlene king needs some serious therapy cause the amount of grown men with teenage girls and consent issues that happen is wayyyy too many

The Tobey/ Jenna thing is actually based off of what happens in the book, it had nothing to do with Marlene lol. They actually switched roles because in the books Tobey is the one assaulting Jenna. The books are totally different than the show, I highly recommend b

Spencer and Caleb as a couple was disgusting to me because i feel like they had a sibling like bond throughout the whole show and also it kind of went against anything the girls stood for to date each other's ex (especially the first love)
I agree with your opinions on Aria! I actually don't think they're as unpopular as you may think. At the beginning of the show I felt I had to root for her because she was presented as the sort of main protagonist but the writers did her so dirty: making her entire plot line from S1 through S7 completely revolving around Ezra, her character had so much potential outside of that and all of the "Ezria" scenes are so uncomfortable to watch, at least for me. But she's also so inherently selfish, I think the time she absolutely lost it with Hanna when she was sexually harassed by Aria's mom's fiancée the most irredeemable aspect of her character.
BUT aside from my little rant (so so sorry for rambling on) I actually think your rating is really really solid! Mine is the same if you just switched Ali and Spencer around🫶💓
AGREED! Aria and Ezra’s relationship still leaves a bad taste in my mouth even after all these years. Also Ali and Spencer were really interchangeable lol but Alison was just SOOOO good at being the “villain” like she actually made me hate her for a while. Sasha did a great job with her character!😭
I've never liked Aria either. She was just so annoying and honestly, a terrible friend. Apart from her dad's infidelity, most of her storylines always surrounded whom she was dating, especially Ezra (which btw she would always choose above her own friends). The only way I think she could've been redeemed was if she turned out to be the final villain. It would not only make her a more interesting character, but it would also justify a lot of her shitty behaviour. But the writers couldn't even do that right.
Spencer and Caleb wasn’t needed at all they just wanted to put them two together because they ran out ideas like they thought the fans would like them together but no one did we loved Hanna and Caleb more so I’m glad they got married at the end of the show ! I love Haleb so much the relationship was written so beautiful. Oh also if you see this comment can you do a ranking of the liars parents ?

I really did not like Paige at all. She made me mad. Especially when she took the envelope from Emily that was suppose to be for Ali (even tho she gave it back) but it still wasn’t her place for her to do that. And when she put the note in the cop car. She did not want nobody to have Emily.

I love Emily, but I think that her story was kinda boring after season 5. Girl, the writters literally kill the only good relationship that she has. I was like when Ali got pregnant and they decide to keep the babies.

Why does everyone like Emily/Maya? Not trying to bash any stans, but I finished a rewatch like a month ago, and Maya just came off like a druggie to me. Even once she stopped using, she came off very stereotypical bad influence to me. I personally was either indifferent to or hated all of Emily's relationships. None of them contributed to the A plots except Paige, who I also despised the most to the point of fast forwarding her scenes, and Ali. I did love Emison, but they were given little to nothing romance scene wise. They didn't even properly get together till 4 eps before the series ended.
I feel like even when gay chrs/couples get representation, it's half-assed and only there to grap the lgbtq viewers.
These characters are iconic and the writing let them all down.
Now Alsion is also one of my top faves but I don't understand the character redemption they gave her🙄Her character became so boring it was normally just centered on her md Emily's relationship..like Ally was so good at being the queen of mean
It was revealed Ezra was not team A but he was writing a book based off of the liars lives, but girllll. I just realized especially now watching the show in my 20s how toxic it really is. Pedophilia was a thing in that show! Ian and Allison, Wren and Spencer Wren and Hannah…likeeeee no stop 😬😬
And the children’s parents were way too relaxed

To play as devil’s advocate, the “relationships” during the show’s run after Aria’s return to Rosewood were technically legal due to the age of consent being 16 in Pennsylvanian (that is the ones like Wren/Spencer, Wren/Hanna, Aria/College Guy.) That technically means all the teenage/adult relationships were legal other than the student and teacher one. Many states have an age of consent as 16 sadly.

And the thing with Jenna .. Toby wasn’t a willing participant in that relationship! I liked him a lot in the beginning when I thought he liked Emily. Aria was a shitty friend at many points . I thought it was weird they didn’t know if they wanted to like Mona or not. I get why they wouldn’t like her but just don’t then. And Caleb was tainted when he got with Spencer Imo and I didn’t care about the relationships after that and already didn’t care about Ezra
YES YES YES! Aria i never could tell if she was a good friend or not. After that one episode, it was curtains for me on her character!
@@romieonfilm yes aria was very concerned about “ her Man” and not much else. I don’t see how she should forgive him for lying about the beginning of the relationship. Ezra reveal was one of my favorites because he was so shady at many points, but writing a book about everyone isn’t as bad as being A but damn that’s so weird it’s beyond comprehension. I believe you said that Ezra didn’t so much as far as partners helping out and you’re right I didn’t think about it much. Most of them were still young but his grown ass could’ve hired a private investigator

I love Hannah she's my top fav nd I also saw she's ranked no 1 amomg the best liars..I just binge watched the series..nd I came to realize in the later seosons Hannah of course became the Queen B but she was kinda harsh to Alison wen she came back which was satisfying cause the way Ali treated her.nd I came to realize she nd Alison rnt very close in terms of friendship wise
Alison bullied her a lot during the beginning seasons! So i was definitely not surprised Hanna wasn’t as accepting to her.

Ezra should be in prison. Tbh when the show started it made sense because he supposedly didn’t know she was in high school and he sort of fell for her before he realized this. But when it came to light that he was stalking them and also had a relationship with Allison and knew who Arya was from the beginning he was definitely a predator. I don’t know what happened in the book but honestly if they had just stuck with the original story rather than adding a bunch of stuff to make the show more interesting, I would have sort of rooted for them because I would have seen it as an accident.
I think it was cool they made Emily’s mom a bit homophobic because it was realistic. She was a conservative and cared about what people thought of her and her family and that’s real. I like that they didn’t make every parent open minded and Emily’s parents had more “normal” issues.

1)she was put in a mental hospital when nothing was wrong with her.. her taking pills wasn’t why she was put in there..

This show was too long lmao. like the mystery wasn't paying off. the jump scares were awesome! also yes maya was emily's best relationship. i was like 12 when i started watching the show. i didn't see the big deal at the time. until a little later. but the show normalized tons of bad relationships. like ian and spencer, wren and spencer. like regardless of what spencer was doing, Melissa's grown ass boyfriends were the predators. also, i hated how the show always acted like ali did something that summer & she had some sort of plan before she went missing but nothing really came of it.

My list is very similar to yours lol I love it. I think they handled Emily coming out the way they did because that's how some parents would actually react and some even worse. I'm glad they made her come around though and accept her. Otherwise, everything you said is true the Ezra part the eating disorder part all handled horribly. Today they would've had to do it differently entirely. Also how did Aria and Ezra get the fairytale wedding instead of Hanna and Caleb?! They were the perfect couple on the show and they didn't get the big one. Robbed.

Seriously Ezra and Aria relationship watching it now that I’m 24 pisses me the hell off, for real! He was the worst! Not only did he use her, and did he knew she was underage when he approached her, but those episodes when Aria didn’t knew he was writing all that crappy story about Alison, the way he manipulated her into thinking her friends were a problem, and the way he threaten Spencer !! The man was seriously crazy, and manipulative, and the fact that he was obsessed with Ali even though he was with Aria, like omggggg I get furious, Aria should just have ended with Jake or any other guy, like the whole PLL final would have been better if just by the end Ezra was the bad guy, A and portrait as a stalker and send to jail, that would have been the best end of PLL

I feel like season 7 was slightly rushed. It could’ve been better. The idea of A.D. being Spencer’s twin didn’t make much sense regardless if they chose Spencer over Alex. They could’ve chose someone else to be A.D.

The fact that all the girls have dated adult's at some points during the highschool seasons is so wired even Emily she dated clair Holt's character who was 25 and it was seen as completely normal

I always really disliked aria, I wasn’t sure why the show and her friends kept saying she was so smart and mature. When she looks the youngest, acts so freaking immature, and generally just idk isn’t great??? So when I heard the aria was supposed to be A theory, it made so much sense with her being kind of petty and takings things way too far
Anytime I see any scenes of Aria and Ezra now makes me so uncomfortable and I cringe every time like idc how cute the moment is that man should be in prison and the fact Aria in the end of the series married him like babes you got groomed and her parents didn’t call the fucking cops or something also the fact that the dad gets mad at HER for it like yes they were obviously pissed at Ezra but like your 16 year old daughter is getting groomed and your getting mad at your daughter telling her not to dress this way you can’t do this or that like call the cops who cares if she gets pissed at you rn she’s literally with her teacher

i understand. the reason she’s at the top for me was because of how well she played her character. i feel like her part was acted out so well she brought out the most emotion from me through the show. she was DEFINITELY evil though!
