Thank you so much for this. I have found the whole blink experience really poor so far and wish I had found this video sooner!

It used to work for me, but somehow it Echo show does not respond now.. it just tries to ring the doorbell and it stops and does not show. If I manually run the routines then it all works.. but at the press of door bell no response

This is the exact same thing that is happening to my mom’s blink doorbell and Alexa Echo Show 8 (3rd Generation). My Blink doorbell with my Alexa Echo Show 8 (1st Generation) program routine works though. Were you able to solve the problem?

Me too. Try adding WAIT command before show me the door. It worked when I added 5 to 10 second delay otherwise the routine just cut off.

@@creativologist1813 I have the same problem, I bought it last year and use it with the Echo Show 8 (2nd gen). I tried adding a 10-second delay because the doorbell records the event and when it's busy it doesn't show live footage. In some cases, it worked, but then it didn’t show anything. This is because people tend to press the doorbell more than once, so it ends up recording for 20 seconds. Additionally, I feel like when someone moves in front of the camera, the recording extends, which is why it also doesn’t respond.

To make it work I changed the command to “Alexa Stop Front door” where front door is the name of my blink device. Then it stops the video streaming.

Great Video! Have a question. Can it be setup go automatic go live view in more than one device? I have an Echo Hub and an Echo Show 5 upstairs and would like it to show automatically in both devices.

Hi, perfect timing. I’ve just bought a Blink! All good, but the custom Wait routine doesn’t work on mine. It will show when pressed, but video doesn’t stop after the wait time.

On the echoshow 15, when it comes to the end of 45 seconds, it hangs, with the' waiting for blink ' is the echoshow 15 not compatible with doorbell press live stream ?

The live view only works when my echo show 8 is on do not disturb. Any ideas?

Hi, the last step does no work for me it stays on. It does not go off after 20 sc. Also, you didn't show it working in the video. Does that work for you?

Delete and add new routine like this and adjust time accordingly you need just one routine to start and stop streaming
      Wait 15 seconds
      "Alexa, show me doorbell "
      Wait 1 minute
      =B
      "Alexa, hide doorbell"

How to stop Alexa saying: ok? Just want it to execute in silence.

    • @SachinPatel-dc8cj
