As a mountainboarder of over a decade, you need to detach the brake. If you’re not doing trails it just gets in the way. Complete your turns and step out of the bindings once you slow down. Also if anyone is reading this wanting a board, save up for one better than the Atom. The more expensive boards are lighter, have shock absorbers, and have better decks.
Mountainboarding is my passion!! Thanks for promoting guys!! Mbs and other brands have other boards with much better components. Have fun!

I have one to go to work everyday and i love it its so smooth and great downhill
I have one of those and I took the break off it then took it down the service road of an old ski resort near me...the speed wobbles are real and terrifying and caused me to eat it so hard the friction from sliding on the pavement burnt thru my knee pads and wrist guards. Fun as hell tho!

I bought this same one a few years back. Had to take the brake off, it was always binding up making going fast impossible. The tires wore out in a few weeks, they are like a plastic dust composite, not rubber! I bought better tires for it and now it's a blast.
That beach land kite idea seems like it would pretty fun tho, no gonna lie

I am glad you have had a go on a mountain board. I am just sorry that you picked one of the worst possible ones. Lose the brake and pick up one of the pro models by MBS or Trampa and you will have a great time in the park, street or yes, mountains.

Nice video! Try losing the brakes and getting a pro board, the MBS Atom 95 is a kids board haha. I ride skateparks all the time on my mountainboard and it looks like you guys would quickly be able to learn 50-50s and board slides on a better board. I could come over a show you the ropes ;)

Mountain Boards have been around sense the 90s
I wish you guys could weld. Imagine a "we make it, we skate it" maybe future "skate it" videos ??
Most mountain boards I've seen don't roll the best on small inclines or flat ground even with a lot of help pushing. I think they are built that way though because if you think about it using them on steep inclines like it's intended, you would constantly be riding the brake worrying about not going so crazy fast its uncontrollable. Could also be like regular bearings where you need that break in period too or the thick lube they use from the factory needing to wear down.. In your spare time you guys should clean as much of the factory lube off and throw some bones speed cream at it and see what it does. Anyways cool vid as always and just thought i would throw that info out there.
I use these videos as a drinking game every time they say fetty or they shout then I drink

I have MTB BOARD and I'm haveing a awesome time on downhill ..yes it works all over the place.grass is awesome because of grass drifting..my board is call MTS COLT 95X mountainboard and it can also be used as a kit board..so if you never got your foot in 1 and had the full experience of a MBS MOUNTAINBOARD ..Don't comment ..in the summer try the ski slopes ...

A friend of mine and i actually did something like that like 13yrs ago. We found a mountain board at a garage sale cheap, salvaged a weed eater engine, a small clutch and belt from a go kart, a steel shaft with brackets that had carrier bearings to mount to the rear truck. We finished the drive system with some bicycle parts. The clutch turned a shaft running parallel and mounted to the back truck, that was the only way we could figure out a way to get the trucks to still be movable and not break parts constantly. We mounted old bicycle sprockets on the inside of the wheels and the flywheels from 2 bike welded to the ends of the shaft to turn the wheels but still be pushable when you broke a belt on the clutch or ran out of gas. It was a ton of fun but a pita to maintain. Because of the flex on the belt between the clutch and shaft it would shred belts or burn the clutch every so often. If i did it again i would figure out a driveshaft system like cars or some 4 wheelers use so you wouldn't have to worry about problems like that.
A friend of mine is making a chainsaw mountainboard
people are already doing that... you have electric mountainboards and also motor based boards too... it goes quite well, even uphill. Only problem is when you put it on a board with goofy positioned bindings, regular riders have problem. And boards like that cost 2000$
Im A Mountain Boarder And If You Want To Get Better At Mountain Boarding Or Make It Easier Get Theses Things.
- Take Out The Brake It, Ruins The Tricks
- Get Heel Straps, It Locks You In The Board And Make Jumps Eaiser

I have an MBS Atom, crazy slow compared to my Snakeboard with 70mm Kryptonics. BUT I got out to ride with my Wings ... kinda like kites without the lines, better for trails and brush.
I want to see you guys take this thing down a mountain.
mountain boards are awesome. I ride one and if you don't have a brake and you don't ware protective gear you will get hurt. worst thing is when you wipe out and it almost breaks your ankle because of the foot straps

Why not change out the bearings to faster ones
For the love of all that is soft and fluffy please PLEASE get rid of those cheap "not for climbing" carabiners on the bungee. They are aluminium and are rated for something like 10lbs (at least the small blue ones are) and _will_ eventually snap. And no, having two of them won't help since if one fails another won't be strong enough to hold and will fail right after. When it snaps it will cause major injuries, think of all the energy that is put into stretching it.
A far safer solution would be a proper climbing carabiner or a "quick repair chain link" (one with the nut on one side) _as long as it is tightened all the way_ . They come in variety of sizes and are actually labeled with max working load so you can choose the size that will be safe. At the very least use a "spring snap link" for the reasons mentioned above.
