- In today's cigar unboxing video, Kirby unboxes a totally new format of cigars for his humidor: a Por Larragana Montecarlo. First uncovered by Cigar Keep Ambassador Max Foulkes in S4 E4 of @nickfoulkessons5824, the Por Larragana is one of the many "Unusual and Unpopular" vitolas Max has "discovered."
Described by Max on Cigar-Keep as a "a cigar that, despite its supposedly unpopular vitola, is often enjoyed by those starting their journey into the world of Cuban cigars and aficionados alike. A find it such an elegant size and believe it to be a cigar that would have been better suited to life in the 1970s, had it had a candela wrapper."
The Por Larragana is one of the interesting vitolas from Habanos that is often enjoyed by the connoisseur of Cuban cigars who appreciate the incredible variety offered by these magnificent cigars!

How long do you find is ideal aging? Just bought a cabinet and find them a bit strong.
@@tomomara23292-5 years. Remove a few and age them separately for a few months and it'll speed up the process. Edit: In a well ventilated area no humidity packs.

Yes the lancero is definitely my favorite size. They catch the eye in length and certainly not too hot, plus easier to smoke without taking up too much time.

@@adamc1706 agreed, both are great. In Sweden however, both are a step above the others in terms of price. But of course, they're above quality wise as well. The ones I mentioned initially are imo the cheapest you can find while still maintaining a great smoking experience and quality.
The Palmas are wonderful. Lots of flavour. They can be smoked immediately. But let them age for 2-3 years and you have a flavour bomb with deep and rich chocolate.

they are one of my favorite and i have not been able to find them forever.
With no new articles on Cigar Keep and no apparent posting of these videos on the site, I do not see CK growing or gaining activity on its' site. Any work being done on that end? I was enjoying it when articles were being posted but it seems to have very little traffic now.
Not to mention these are old Kirby Allison videos from his page. So not even curated CK videos. Which they should totally do. I would definitely watch different collectors and afficionados showing off what's in their humidors.
Edit: After some digging it seems that Kirby is now in charge since 4 months ago! Excited to see what he has in store for us since he clearly knows how to run a successful channel with exciting videos.
Some of the videos published on CK are new. For example, Ajay Patel 30th Anniversary Celebration, Cavendish and Sahakian Lounge Meet. The Unusual and Unpopular pieces are remastered and uploaded to CK after being removed from KA.
I understand there are videos here on CZcams but the actual site has had 2 articles in three months. No links on the actual page to the CZcams videos. If the new direction is just another CZcams channel and nothing is done on the web page then why bother having the web page.
I was responding to some comments about the videos being old. With regard to your specific comments regarding the lack of updates to the website, I suspect it takes a bit of time to put things in order after assuming the reins of a new endeavour.

Thank you for sharing your new additions! As a member to the keep myself, the only problem I have with it is the lack of new world cigar options. As an American I do not have the pleasure of collecting Cuban cigars. It would be nice to be able to register new world cigars.

@@TrainMaster04 Many reputable sites sell to the US and guarantee delivery so if they’re confiscated, which is extremely rare, they will re ship or refund. I recommend COH, ihavanas, RSVP or Bellhop.
Kirby have you had any Cuban taken by customs when you have them shipped? I have only ordered 3-4 times and never had a problem but I only buy the cheaper Cuban because I do worry about customs taking them.

Hi Kirby, thank you for this interesting video. If you like the thinner, longer gauges, you might like to try a Bolivar Lonsdales (if you can find them, as they are discontinuted). I sold my whole collection, but was sorely tempted to keep these. They might have aged-out by now, but I recall them being chocolatey and utterly morish!

He won't tell you because you don't have the privilege he has. He is friends with the Importers and the Titans in the UK Cuban cigar market. They mail him packages as gifts, or he'll get packages from them sent to his business in TX. That's the loop hole to get them in...

I hope Cigar Keep would make an exception and include Davidoff cigars, especially since there are vintage Cuban Davidoff cigars still out there and Habanos Specialist do sell Davidoff in their stores.
That was along time ago. And Davidoff wanted to leave Cuba. So they have not been a Cuban cigar in a long time. I think they left Cuba in the 90’s. So it’s more then 23 years ago

He can have his friends purchase these for him, and he gets his friends to personally send him them into the country to his house from London , Or they send them to his business address so it looks like the packages are business related. Though I dont think he would jeopardize his business so it's more than likely he is having his friends who work in the Cigar industry in the UK buy them for him and he reimburses them under the table , and the packages are sent from person to person as a gift. That's the loop hole with this whole embargo thing. In my opinion.

Ok dumb question, where can one go to purchase real Cuban cigars and have them shipped to the US? I’ve been relegated to only purchasing non-Cuban cigars as I have not come across where I can make such a purchase.
Or deal with shady websites such as ihavanas, COH etc . They are real, but I just never trusted them. I know people who have purchased from online sites being shipped from Switzerland and they are legit. But they had to use a dummy pre paid debit card to send the payment etc. they want to open your box and "inspect" the cigars before they send you them. I don't like that. I want a sealed legit box. Not an opened box

The lack of respect in mispronouncing the name of the brand baffles me.
