Am I crying alongside Molly? Maybe. The clear joy and appreciation you both show are the exact reasons why you both deserve this so much. Although this is now on my bucket list, my first bucket list stay that I would also love to see is a cabin stay Wilderness Lodge.
So, I don't know if y'all are familiar with the word "compersion," but it's the idea of experiencing joy from the happiness of others. Tbh the swinging chairs and dipping pool and outdoor shower are all great, but the ACTUAL height of luxury is not having to take apart the sofa to create the pullout bed.

Having been lucky enough to stay at the Polynesian 3 TIMES! (hey, I'm a New Yorker) in '78, '81 and '97, it warmed my heart to see you both getting emotional. The resort holds a special place in my heart (honeymoon in the Tonga longhouse--now Hawaii), so Molly's reaction after sitting in the outdoor swing really hit me. Thanks for helping me realize that it IS possible to splurge on a fantasy-come-true. Hey, you never know---trip number FOUR could be in the cards (even if we spend it in a bungalow for one night).

You’ve dropped this at THE BEST TIME (for me)! I’ve rented points for my first ever Poly stay and am flying over from England in 4 days - I am SO excited! And it cost us around £700 by renting instead of £1530 rack ❤️❤️❤️

I'll never forget I was sitting in my room at the Grand Floridian and I heard music coming from outside (the room faced the lagoon), and to my delight the electrical water pageant was coming by. I was so ecstatic and it truly was a magical moment.
Such a bucket list item. The Polynesian will always be my favorite Disney resort. So many wonderful childhood memories. Never got to stay overnight.. as we lived down there. Staycations really weren't a thing in the eighties. You went home and slept in your own bed. But.. we did spend a good bit of time on the beach.. at the playground.. shopping and dining.
As an adult I enjoyed the Spirit of Aloha dinner show a couple of times. It was awesome. 🌴
Would love to see staycations at all of the hotels on Disney property!

I absolutely adore Disney - have had some amazing experiences. That said, I do think they tend to overcharge for some of their experiences, even their luxury places. While the Polynesian Bungalows are great, I can think of quite a few places at that price level that are better. Still, if you enjoy it, then it's worth it - just know you're paying for that Disney "brand".

I love that you cried Molly. We stayed in the bungalows for 5 nights and I cried when we walked in and my husband thought it was hilarious! He said I shouldn’t be crying but now I know I’m not the only one. Best “room” on property in my opinion!! The bathroom blew me away! 🌴🏝️💙
Can you imagine driving up to the Polynesian Resort, parking just in front and walking in without a reservation and getting a room for the week? That was our honeymoon 43 years ago on July 11, 1980. Could never do that today!
I paid $119 per night with a theme park view in 1986..on a side note, DVC Rental Store is awesome!
Molly, I was crying right along with you watching the water parade and the fireworks. When my kids were young we would come to Disney world every 2 years. And no matter where we were staying we would always go to the Polynesian and sit on the beach and watch the water parade. And I would cry, just like I cried at every Disney parade, fireworks, and shows. So many wonderful memories. So they still have the banana stuffed French toast at the Polynesian with the orange butter. One of my favorites from way back when

In all our trips we never thought of the Poly as our cup of tea, but you two are right. THIS is definitely a “bucket list” stay. I just love the campgrounds so much I can’t do anything else.

I’m sure working in WDW parks all day every day can kind of numb you to a lot of the magic and leave you slightly jaded, so I can understand how discovering this experience for the first time and having uncharted territory allowed you to really feel the magic again!

The Copper Creek cabins are the bomb. I would pick those every time. Real hot tub in a screened in porch, so no bugs! We own DVC there so it's affordable.
