Tarantino often references novels as a format he tries to emulate. I'd love to see his library sometime.
Have you read the "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" novel by Tarantino? He also came out with a new book recently I still need to check out but the OUATIH one was a phenomenal addition to the actual film!
U should check out Elmore Leonard, Quentin adapted his rum punch novel into Jackie brown and he also owns the rights to 40 lashes less one but I don’t think he’ll ever make it a movie sadly
@@810austin His new book is a nonfiction work. The OUATIH novel was pretty good, I liked it. A lot more exploration of Cliff Booth as a character.
Yes
National Lampoon magazines and MAD magazine😎
“I’m not telling you guys” immediately tells us in the novelization
Yeah, but he makes you get the book. You don't have to buy it if your library has it, but you still have to work for it, which is one of the things that drives QT I think. He seems to abhor laziness.
That's the point dummy.
so did he kill her or nah?
@@mrtony1985 he did, on purpose, but instantly regretted.
@@arthurmont-morency5027 how and why did he kill her
This man works. He knows his shit and puts it on paper.
Yeah he puts shit on paper
@@elperronimo a really long, thick and steamy shit may I add.
@@elperronimo lol
@@elperronimo Simon. Just like your birth certificate.
That’s a genius technique. No wonder even his side characters have so much flavor to them. They never ever feel like they fill a side character role they always make the world of the film feel extremely lived in with a whole past and history prior to the events of the film.
The side characters are sometimes the most important and most loved feature. It becomes a witty joke that audiences enjoy.
I agree, Tarantino makes every single character alive, believable and relevant, while in many other films most of character beside the main ones are NPCs.
So the side characters are almost like main characters themselves.
Quentin's dressed the same way with the same cup of coffee as he was in that clip of him yelling at a paparazzo in the snow.
Now I know why Quentin was in such a hurry to be somewhere.
Hahah underrated comment
Yes seen it was thinking the same thing
Well spotted!
Hahaha i was looking for this comment. Was he going to this conference in that paparazzi video? Hahahaha
D
He writes novels about characters, then instead of publishing his novels he puts the characters into movies. Mastery of a craft and dedication to art. He is very talented.
Leo: “I was gonna say yes the whole time.”
Leo is never like that in selecting scripts, he rejects movies on a regular
@@nicp4306 They worked together before, in Django. No problems whatsoever.
We need more people like Quentin Tarantino who truly inspires others by showing his passion for filmmaking.
This film is special for so many reasons
It's great but also that last film my mom, son and myself watched in August prior to her passing on Sept 8 2019. She loved movies and Tarantino
Miss you Mawmoo
Quentin is so modest. Leo was a yes before the script.
This dude is one of a kind! A true artist! One of the greatest directors top 5!
Tarantino writes his own fan fiction
I'm not that into movies but i love listening to Tarantino talk about his filmmaking process
Don't lie be yourself.
Im pretty sure once upon time in Hollywood was his best script so far ......i mean the amount of caracters and their stories is mind blowing 👏👏
So Brad Pitt knows exactly if he’s playing a murderer or not
was that hidden in any way?
@@ThePrinceOfNigeria Yes. We don't know if it was genuinely an accident (like Marvin in Pulp Fiction) or if it was intentional.
@@gregbard Quentin admitted that Ciff murdered his wife. It's in the script. It didn't show I believe so that the audience would think his character was more likeable which he was but we all got the right idea what happened
In the novel (written by taranito), cliff really murders his wife.
In the novelization it's revealed Cliff has murdered multiple people, his wife included.
I could listen to QT talk about film all day.
This man is just brilliant, I love hims so much :=")!
He gets the best out of every Actoor.Bravo 👏
In reality: Leonardo sees “Tarantino” and says “Yes”
This man always has so much energy
I could listen to tarantino forever
Once upon a Time in Hollywood is the one film of Tarantino's I am most thankful ❤ He created a world the way it should have been; where evil did not prevail.
This is awesome, really going the extra mile to bring his movies to life
love hearing him talk about his movies
Tarantino is a genius... Can't wait for his tenth film & I hope it's not his last , like he said it would be.
It’s crazy how intelligent this guy is a true master of his work
Let it all out in the anniversary edition at some point, your efforts deserve appreciation.
That kind of reminds me of the movie pulp fiction. The guy who helped them clean the car with blood. You could tell he has a complete backstory
I swear I can just listen to this dude talk movies for hours. Wish I could attend one of these events
He has a podcast called video archives. You’re welcome.
My guy should publish all of his writings for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. It's clearly his most talked about and beloved film in which he created a great world space for people to get lost in and to hang out with likable characters being Rick, Cliff and many others. He already published the novelization of the film. I wanna read what happened on that boat with Cliff and his ex wife as well as Rick Dalton's film career!!
I want to read what happens on the boat too, Cliff was just too cool for school but Rick was a douche and best thing about him was shooting the bar scene for his movie.
what are you guys talking about? he did publish it as a novel, and the chapter of the boat was in there. you can buy it or even Google it to find out.
He did dude, just look it up. Exactly what you’re talking about
He wrote a novelization of the movie but I don't know if the boat part is in there the way he described it in this video
@@drdiscostu i think its the screenplay of the movie not the novelization
He's a master storyteller
The world needs these source materials.
Leo's roles are always impressive, so it's hard to definitively -- even for fans like myself -- rank their performances.
The thing is, his portrayal of Rick Dalton has an elusive, almost cryptic-feeling quality to it that you can't quite put your finger on. And so it makes perfect sense that QT composed to the deepest of depths in terms of characterization. It's just on another level altogether that it wouldn't feel right to include Rick Dalton on a Best of Leo list.
That wasn't Leo. It was... you know what, I can't even find words. I really want to read that book.
All of that art should be shared with his fans...he is amazing
Happy jubilee 60, in this year 2023 Mr. Tarantino. Be healthy, happy and let all of your movie ideas will become true.
I enjoy how much initiative both Leo and Quentin have for the script & characters
Genius
He legit loves his movies, and it shows. His movies have such depth. He's one of a kind
Wonder if this is where he was going/coming from in that video where he gets into it with the paparazzi… same coat, coffee in hand 😂
Ahahahhaha I was hoping to see someone comment this
It took reading the screenplay for KillBill for me to realize how unique and interesting his writing style is.
QT is the Mad Hatter in real life but an unbelievably talented man! The stars love him.
Love to see Johnny Depp and Ryan Gosling appear in his movies, maybe even Russell Crowe?
I've read that book, about that movie, really excellent stuff, Tarantino is one of a kind
The amount of effort he puts into his work is what filmmaking is about. He is legendary, one of the best in the business!
helps them find the performance he needs .. nice !
He’s doing an eight point episode mini-series next.
8-10 hours is going to be a great format for him, especially if you consider the number one knock on his films are they’re simply too long.
The commitment to his craft is unbelievable. And then you have dopes like Simu Liu saying “muh box office success”
When in glorious bastards came out they posted one of these chapters on the backstory of the bear Jew in a Playboy issue. so much more to the characters we never see
That movie is phenomenal
I just love his whole process , definitely one of the most passionate directors in the business , I’ll never do a film that’s not needed
The boat scene
😂
Brilliance.
He is so great .. he is a a writer in another level
That is a great directing and writing technique, because the actor can extract much more about a character this way. As if the movie was based on a book. I'd love to watch a Cliff Booth movie or mini-series, because he has a properly created backstory.
Quentin Tarantino look like he just came out of Starbucks while a paparazzi was harassing him.
Once upon a time in Hollywood is my favourite 😉
What a man!!!!
I’ll write a character back story for a movie titled, “be like Rebecca De Mornay.” I won’t expect any A listers to jump for the role or anything because it could be career ending.
QT please give us the director's cut of that movie!!!
I love that movie. It's not fast paced as marvel movie. I think it'll be more appreciated as time goes on
Pure genious
Hope he releases his scripts as novels. Will be a very interesting read.
Bruh he is on stage holding his anti paparazzi coffee
Tarantino is writing Skyrim lore books for his movies and that is dope!
Tarantino is just an absolute Chad storyteller. Many of my favorite movies to quote regularly, are his films. I still rewatch pulp fiction several times a year.
Tarentino is an actor's dream director.
Bro writes a movie then writes a book for the actors in the movie 💀
This is a great example of "help them help you" 😂
Not only is he giving actors material to play around and work with but he's also showing his storytelling style. This quite literally put both him and the actor on the same page, a synced creative process if you may.
You help them have fun with their job, while they help you get the job done.
You're user name immediately made me a think of a George Carlin joke about God and the church. Your profile picture too is great.
God, he is so brilliant. I am enamored with his work and with his process. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant.
The art of show don’t tell 👌🏼
Quentinin front of 106 and Park:
"I be writin' my peeps like dey wasn't just T'challa, you dig, but like they be all Wakanda, nome'sayin', G?"
This author is so good who is he? They should make movies out of his screenplays.
What about like a nonfiction about super pure orange juice?
Or movie about cats in a cistern?
What about graceful kids formed within wedlock?
Imagine if this guy were to adapt a Stephen king novel to screen
Love this guy
Looking forward to the Rick Dalton series
QT seems very astute and focused when he starts a film...?? 🤔😁👍✌
The Rafael!!!
So today I knew this is the man about whom ranbir kapoor was saying in kapil sharma show
Our monu 😂
There should be a background story on Quentin ‘s laugh 😆
I think "misadventure" is self explanatory.
This guy makes the best movies only one still making good ones basically nowadays and he’s retiring soon if not already
NOBODY knows more about movies and can literally name the names in the credits, he studied them all as a kid, Q T is a stud Director!!
O.B, Gogo, and Marcellus Wallace are good/obv examples
Oh no way!! I can't believe that an actual written script or draft exist for that scene.
Thats pretty much...how the job description is written on linked in...and the film cut is the actual work you do after joining!
Very nice way of doing things, the actors must love having something for them like that, like Sam Jackson knowing what's in the box
2007 "Death Proof" is imo Tarentino's 3rd best pic..
1. Jackie Brown
2. Inglorious Bastards
3. Death Proof
4. Pulp Fiction
5. Django
I wanna read 😭
History will see Tarantino as one of the best to ever do it. Him, Nolan and scorcese are the ONLY directors I will spend money on a movie ticket just because they directed it.
God I would love to read Tarantino scripts. There has to be some way I can get my hands on them.
This was immediately after that video where he attacks the paparazzi
He is still alive, breathing with us. Legend.
Dude is that the same jacket and coffee from his paparazzi confrontation? 🤣
I'll always remember reading the Django Unchained script. "Dickie lets out a bitch like scream" 😂 the scene where Django slaps Stephen around? 😲 also, he poisons the dogs.
Please can someone tell me where i can see the full version of this speach?
You know he is the type that remind you of that one guy in your school.
Q.T. is complex. He works long and hard on his skill, his trade. It makes him happy and satisfied. Listening to him is contagious.
That makes zero sense
Man I can’t wait when he writes a original story novel that’s not a movie it’s going to be interesting thing to read
"Alright"
Bro makes script for movies and makes a story just for each a character lmao good stuff
