I would sit in the Haggis Box and people watch on the Royal Mile. For tourists, walking all day takes its toll on the feet. A break at the Haggis Box provided relief and a clean toilet. This brings back wonderful memories. I also liked the Baked Potato Shop on Cockburn Street. I did a takeaway with a wonderful baked potato and topping.
They can steal your content but they'll never steal your banter 👌👍✌️🏴

Tony! American here and am very excited to say I'll be going to visit your beautiful City Edinburgh in July. Found your videos about a month ago and can't get enough. Look forward to sharing some of the new things I have learned. The new food places, etc... I'll be also going to Dunkeld, Isle of Skye, to name a few. What ever videos you can suggest would be great and thank you so much for the amazing videos!
Enjoy yourself! We did last Fall and largely based on Tony's suggestions. Now we can't wait for our next visit and go to the Haggis Box. Wisconsin.

It’s great you are going to Edinburgh, but a wee word to the wise; in future you should delay your visit by a few weeks, and visit Edinburgh in August, because this is when the Fringe and international Festivals take place. Also when the unmissable Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is on. Enjoy your stay

You'll love it. There are loads of Americans here. We had Taylor Swift last weekend and people came from the USA to see her because it was cheaper!
Always enjoy your videos. The Scran premises in Cockburn Street used to be a sports equipment shop. In 1975, I bought 12 outfield strips (tops, shorts, socks & self-sew-on numbers!) and a goalie's strip for my Sunday league fitba team. All fro the princely sum of £19.95 ⚽
Haggis Box and Scran were already at the very top of my list for my next visit, thanks to you - will definitely be adding Frites as well. Cheers, Tony!
Best takeaway in the city is Slum Dog Delivered. Haggis pakoras is all you need to know.

Of the three I have only been to two. I have not been to Frites but I will go next time. I LOVE the veggie haggis, as I don't want to do the real one. (sorry) I ate a burger and fries at Scran and drank water, but my friend had the malts and they were wonderful!! Good places Tony!!

My first haggis was from The Haggis Box at the Grassmarket, and the mars bars from Glemshell and mac & chees from the pub😊
The Haggis Box is at the top of our list for our next visit. If you had room, you should have stopped by The Kilted Donut for a small ;) treat. (Thanks for that recommendation, too)
Mocrowaved haggis for breakfast. That you cannot beat.

Great video! It’s 5:30 AM here in South Carolina and I have to say the sight of the haggis plate from the first restaurant was a little rough looking at this early hour. I’ll stick with my Cheerios in the morning 😁

Last time we went Scran was kind of hidden behind some scaffolding so we missed it even though we walked by a bunch of times. Looking forward to trying it this summer when we return!
I haven't been to the Haggis Box so it is now a must for my next trip!! Scan is fire too! My boy loves the buffalo chicken.. But Frites is an absolute favorite!! They have a lot of Gluten Free options too!! .. Thanks for the video 🥰

Its one of those things that are much better than you would expect. Sounds a bit scary but its not. Got to have the neeps with it though. They are slightly sweet so gives you a subtle sweet and sour type flavour. Oh yeah happy Easter

LOL I think I have been watching you for too long I just knew which two you were going to featured, the third was hard to guess I thought Greggs for a sausage roll or a dessert place. Anyway I noticed while you were on Cockburn street, the baked spud shop wasn't there, surely it hasn't closed it has been there for decades.

What’s the next best thing at Scran? one of us can’t have mac &cheese, poor thing.
I checked out the Scran menu online, wow! Looks very tasty, without even getting g to the deserts.
Tony, any recommendations for pubs with trad music that would allow kids? Having trouble finding any that’ll allow kids after 8 or 9pm (can’t recall which).

It's against the law for children to be in a pub after around 6pm unfortunately. You won't fine any pub that will allow them in.

It's a good time to come. Too early in the year for it to be super busy. I definitely can't guarantee it, but sometimes we get the best weather early in the year. Often followed by a horrible summer. Everything's starting to grow again after winter. Lots of bulbs starting to flower It's definitely one of the better times to come.
This is a good channel to watch. I've lived here for a few years, but I still learn a lot from watching this channel
Oh and another food recommendation for food.Is the Sicilian Pastry shop near the top of Leith. Is a small family run business, always busy because its so good. It near the top but a little bit away from Leith walk so you might need a map to find it. Its one of my favorite snack/cake places

Arcade Bar Haggis & Whisky House, on Cockburn Street... across from Scran. They have a haggis stuffed chicken that was really good. And... fun, funky chairs.
