Obella is twelve, on the brink of maidenhood. They worship you, as Dorea and Loreza worship them. If you should die, must El and Obella seek vengeance for you, then Dorea and Loree for them? Is that how it goes, round and round forever? I ask again, where does it end? I saw your father die. Here is his killer. Can I take a skull to bed with me, to give me comfort in the night? If we use our two nukes, thousands will die. Let's do something else.
Buuuuut that something else cannot be Operation Downfall, either, this would bring foreign army to Japan and Japanese people would resent that.
We will do something clever, instead.
We will send unescorted transports to ferry Chinese units, since they are basically Japanese. We will then surround Japanese islands with those unescorted transports and starve them out.
Millions will die, but at least those thousands will live.
We will also send Unsoviet army to capture Manchuria, so Japan loses resources... that they already cannot ship to Japan anyway.
Also, Unsoviets have no capacity to threaten mainland Japan for years, because their naval power is barely enough for some tiny islands.

@@cristianyampasi4692 And like last time it happened, the rioting will accomplish nothing but the killing thousands of innocent citizens in the chaos since the Red Keep is both fortified in it's own right and staffed by loyal and well-fed Lannisters. In the event of a conventional siege, Cersei would just bunker up in the Red Keep and essentially trap the common folk between her walls with Lannister Soldiers on them and the outer walls with an enemy army waiting for them.
Considering Cersei's outright suicidal stubbornness and resolve to do absolutely nothing but wait and hope for the best, most of Kings Landing really would starve to death or die of disease long before she surrenders the city. The most likely outcome would be a months-long wait for enough people in the city to die that they can no longer hold the outer walls and the enemy army get inside to besiege the actual keep, but considering the population of a million people; that's hundreds of thousands dead and the rest riddled with disease, malnourishment and general misery.
In contrast, Dragons are guided missiles that could precision-target Cersei and her court specifically, literally a dream goddamn solution. TYRION IS FULL OF SHIT.

@@officiallyjan8596 I always liked the idea of Daenerys burning the red keep, I mean sure many innocent servant and soldiers who have no choice but to serve house lannister will die, yet it is still better to kill dozens than to kill thousands I guess. Then again in king s landing history there have been riots that were organized enough to kill important members of the government or even make the targaryen queen flee, so I do think that an important group of rebels will try something against cersei, since she should despised by the majority of king s landing I mean she killed the people s pope, the tyrells, and his uncle and cousin which makes her a kinslayer if i am not mistaken oh and she made the walk of shame for fornicating with lancel, keep in mind that this society is really conservative. So with that in mind Varys and other intelligent characters in favour of Daenerys should have enough opportunities to try to take her down by other means beside a siege. Thou I would like to see cersei burned alive so burning the red keep is still nice except for the dragon killing arrows. But at the end of the day the producers are not smart enough to deal with this. What I mean is she could siege the city and make other things to make her down. Sorry for my bad english

Am I the one who's gonna have to point out that Quyburn's scorpion test where he destroys a dragon skull proves NOTHING, and that this weapon should not work?
    1. That skull is centuries old and would be much easier to break than living dragon's bones
    2. Dragons main defenses are their scales, not their bones, something that this skull is lacking
    3. The Scorpion is shooting at point blank range, where it doesn't have to fight against wind resistance or gravity (since it would be shooting UP in actual combat)
    4. This weapon would be IMPOSSIBLY difficult to aim, not to mention shoot at and HIT a dragon moving at 140 Mph (actual average speed)
Just saying that while I can accept that the white walker spear, being magic, might kill a dragon, there's no way in a million years that a scorpion should be able to in combat
Like seriously, do the math difference for a sec.
    - A scorpion, at point blank range, is able to pierce an old dusty skull.
    - Therefor the Iron Fleet, who are bobbing up and down on waves, have to hit an extremely fast target, have to deal with gravity as they shoot a target KILOMETERS above them, have to deal with wind resistance, have to actually pierce the dragons scales, and not to mention, have to actually AMBUSH the damn thing (Seriously how did you not see them Danny) are able to kill one
I genuinly thought that this reveal was a joke at first. That the lannisters would shoot these things and we would all have a good laugh as they did absolutely nothing, and we all get treated to Emilia Clark looking confused, wondering why they're yeeting spears at her

This Pisstake is fantastic, and everything within it I agree with. Instant sub.
For that little bit where Jorah starts his letter to Dany: I think that over the course of them knowing each other, "Khaleesi" became, if not a petname, something similar. Because after Khal Drogo died, the khalasaar more-or-less fell apart, Quarth happened, and then she went on to Yunkai and Mereen - Dany's Dothraki identity was no longer prominent or pertinent.
In Season 1, when Jorah tells her, "You're learning to talk like a Queen," Dany responds with, "Not a Queen, a Khaleesi."
Whereas when she takes Mereen, she calls herself a Queen, and says, "I will do what Queens do. I will rule."
As she gets closer to achieving her goals of becoming the ruler of the Seven Kingdoms (and apparently a chunk of Essos) - it seems like she's getting further and further way from the identity of Khaleesi.
Until Dany burned down all the Khals, and made all the Dothraki her bloodriders - successfully bringing together her identities of a "Queen" and a "Khaleesi" together.
To be calling her "Khaleesi" all this time, is like,,, a throwback, I guess? A reminder of who she was, and who she still is? A reminder that he's been with her all this time? And there's something bittersweet about her title being used as a term of affection.
I'm drunk, so I'm not quite as eloquent as I should be, and writing meta has never been my strong suit. But I, unfortunately, also have feelings and internet access... So here's my take. I'm sorry, and you're welcome.

The hilarious thing is that I've seen this video multiple times, and the first time I watched it when he said that the unsullied spring back to life, I thought he was making a reference to some whacky spooky stuff from the books. It's only on further reflection that I realized he's making a reference to the later seasons of the show where they just seem to never really lose soldiers and remain an intact fighting force despite constantly being shown losing at least some men in their various conflicts, which honestly had been a trend since like season 5. It's these backwards realizations, the little bits of text that only flash for an instant, the tiny jokes that reference book cannon and show cannon and his own videos that deeply flesh out so much of what he does, and honestly reflect the story that Glidus puts so much of his time into. Not only is his content great, but I honestly think if he sat down and made creative works about a world of his own, they'd be fantastic. Okay, so here's the deal. You're half-right. There is a difference between Trap cards and Quick-Play Spell cards, at least as far as a certain type of Trap cards go.
Almost all Trap cards as well as Quick-Play spells belong to the Speed Spell 2 category, however, Counter Trap cards belong to the Speed Spell 3 category. This means, while you can chain Spell Speed 2 cards to other Spell Speed 2 or 1 cards, you can't chain them to Spell Speed 3 cards. A chain is basically a response with a card to your own or your opponent's cards.
So there you go, I hope that cleared things up.

Absolutely batshit reasoning that only a child could come up with, zero critical thought behind it at all, existing only to get him there because there was no other way to possibly do that *and* not hurt their heads from thinking for a few minutes.
Like, even if that reasoning was actually true, like in asoiaf monarchs were always looking out for other monarchs and talking in person all the time, it *still* would have a serious problem. Jon is a *rival* monarch. His claim over the North is in direct opposition towards her claim over the entirety of Westeros. If anything, him bending the knee to her immediately would be far more effective at convincing her to take an interest in their struggles.

I once got into a heated debate with someone over the correct pronunciation of Daenerys' name. My friend was convinced it was DYE-nuh-ris with the emphasis on the first syllables with the first vowel sound being a long Y sound and the second being a schwa, while I was convinced it was deh-NAIR-is, with a short E as the first vowel sound, long A as the second with emphasis on the 2nd syllable. After hearing the name said so frequently in a short span of time however, I am convinced my friend was right. at least in the accent of Ghiscari and Valyrian, it is the former pronunciation, then as the sound mutates across languages and accents it becomes the latter. I love language.

I'm pretty sure when he leveled up, he got some weird feat that allows him to roll with advantage on all stealth roles he has to do while traveling. And he managed to convince the DM that traveling on ships is TECHNICALLY traveling. So, now he gets to roll all his stealth-checks with advantage as long as he's on a ship, which explains how he manages to sneak up on people with a FLEET OF SHIPS more than once during the story. The DM probably should have thought about the consequences of letting him do that a bit more, but I get it... sometimes you just allow a player to do something, and he'll end up coming up with these exploits...

Yeah, sure, but I thought All the Ironborn feats were related to shipbuilding or combat, not stealth?Jeez, this is why you playtest before starting your epic campaign

It hurt me deep down how dirty they did House Tarly. I found the whole discussion regarding their past and loyalty fucking amazing, so much potential! The only man capable of defeating Robert Baratheon on the battlefield, fighting for the Targaryens until the very end, giving up what he once stood for and seeing a dangerous enemy in the last Targ that would ruin and destroy Westeros and hence deciding to fight her. I loved that idea, I loved that inner battle that must have happened. Would have loved to see that. Just like I would have loved to see a proper fucking season 8! Fuck's sake fucking idiots.

What’s even funnier is that GRRM has created a perfect reason to not attack the city because when Dany arrived in Westeros it’ll in all likelihood by controlled by Faegon, who she’ll want to have an uneasy alliance with as her ‘nephew’. Also this explains why she will land at Dragonstone and not Dorne because Doran will have aligned himself to Faegon (and probably married Arrianne to him).

1:05 Might be a point out to the fact that Targaryens are suffering from what one might call genetical homesickness. They long for Valyria and cannot shake the feeling that they are not at home in Westeros - but it is suggested that Dragonstone is one of the only places in Westeros where they do feel at home somehow, so it's kinda weird that she'd say that at Dragonstone.

14:45: this is actually some fan-servicing wherin they're hinting at the Littlefinger-is-Rhaegar-Targaryen theory. They're doing that a lot, just like the Valanquar theory and Jamie and Cercei standing on that map. But ofcourse they do nothing further with it.
