To the person who asked me to adapt this...
...yes.
Thank You, this was very fun to adapt.
An amazing adaptation if I must say so myself! Love how you included incidental season 4 music for some scenes oh, it just fit the moment perfectly
I think a 4-6-0 is a Claughton good for this video
@@daylight39 You Might Not Believe This, But A Couple Of Months Ago, I Watched A Teaser Video On The Wandering Coach And I Did Say That This Exact Engine Would Be Good For An Adaptation. If Afton's Model Pack The Same One That Victor Tanzig used For Geoffrey If You Don't Mind Me Asking? If So, Talk About Coincidences. GREAT Full Story Adaptation Mate.
Hey but I had thought that afton would've been a 4-6-0 type of engine
@@daylight39 so the ghost engine has to travel about telling his story to make engines who have caused confusion and delay to learn their lesson
11:38 you know its messed up when even ALFRED is horrified
11:39 When even _Alfred_ is horrified at an act, it truly shows how vile it was.
What's that supposed to mean?
@@DarkVegito-ow6xc Alfred is considered Psychotic in many works, such as getting people hurt just to get his way, and in extreme cases, even tried to scrap other engines for spiteful reasons.
The fact that he is horrified at Afton destroying that Coach, shows he considers destroying a defenseless coach an act too vile.
@@Victor-056 true but idk if this is that alfred
According to what I've been told, a junior police officer found out about this incident while cleaning out the Vicarstown Police Archives then saw this video and found out that the coach behind Afton had a loose coupling. So when it traveled at high speed, the rear coupling on the coach snapped leaving the other coaches just sitting on the mainline. So far, 69% of the mystery has been solved thanks to that junior officer. That officer has now received a Medal for finding out the reason why the coaches were left on the mainline. I think the officer's name was Ivan or Isabel...I can't remember anymore.
Nice work.
But how the engine disappear?
@@Lil_Pennsy...that is yet to be determined.
I read your comment like it was an actual real life incident until I saw Vicarstown police department
The epilogue with Afton and The Coach along with the atmosphere of the whole scene is one that I find to be remarkably unnerving.

Hell hath no fury like a coach's scorn
Damn, this was an amazingly dark story. And The whistle... haunting lol
This story is SO GOOD that I can still hear the whistle, the puffing, AND THE CREAKING even after it’s paused!!! After what Afton went through with his actions, he deserved to be cursed by the coach he destroyed. But at the same time, I did have some guilt for him cause he’s having to suffer the curse that the coach placed on him, forever running down the line with a non bogey Victorian coach always dragging behind his tender and disappearing through the tunnel, creating the story of what’s now known as the Wandering Coach.
This will teach Sir Handel to know that his ways of thinking are not always right
Sir Handel? Learn? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 *I'd like to see that!!!* 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Sir Handel is more like Gordon.
Duncan is stubborn but isnt really vain.
This adaptation is pretty disconcerting. Love the shake given to Sir Handel near the end.
Until now ; since the year began; Afton's story is my favorite Thomas The Tank Engine horror story.
I can't wait until Halloween to see a bunch of stories like this.
I have to say, I've seen a great many T&F ghost stories. Most, if I'm honest, have been less than impressive. This one though, this was something special. Very well written, well paced, fitting well with the lore of the early days of the NWR. Overall a superb piece of literary workmanship. Very well done indeed.
It's definitely one of the better ones.
I love how Sir Handle shaked in fear.
Afton ended up like the Zanetti ghost train.
This is a great adaptation to this story. It's my favorite Tales from the Scrap Siding series story. Well done here.
Afton: this is what you get for being a weak engine.
Geoffrey: am I a joke to you.
Hey, whoa! Stop at 7:39, and you'll spot a toy James on the footplate. Has that always been there on Geoffrey's model?
And for everyone raising a stink that Geoffrey isn't a proper 4-6-0 Claughton, he makes for a good stand-in. That is, unless someone wants to make Afton from scratch, lol!
This was pretty good adaption. Definitely helps visualize the events of this already chilling ghost story.
THOMAS MINI JAMSS IS SO BIG
@@timmyblox8331 I LITERALLY JUST SAW THAT THING!!!!!
FOOKING MINIS
I actually think Geoffrey is a good stand-in. True, he’s not an express engine, but his type were used by the LNWR and later LMS up until the late-20s. Add his bright red, and I think he fits
minis geoffrey
Considering how the loaned engines were rude to the NWR engines, I bet Afton’s disappearance made them change their attitude.
Wow Allred was actually shock about what Afton did.

Gone without a trace yeah right unless he had an accident and got destroyed in the accident without a trace.
Too bad for afton if he only treated the coaches like "proper coaches" he wouldn't be doomed to ride the rails with the coach he killed for all eternity🛤️🚂🚃
amazing work
Love how you used Geoffrey as Afton. I also noticed a MINIS James in Geoffrey’s cab XD!
And now afton runs endlessly across the line.. with the old coach as a creaking reminder that they are banished from death. I imagine a human version of this where she is in afton’s shadow... a mangled mess of a human.. choking and gaging.. always behind him...
That is so delightfully twisted! I love it!

Instead it’s the “Lost Engine”.
Well done fellows!!
This will teach Sir Handel to know that his ways of thinking are not always right.
Seems a lot of supernatural stuff happens to people named Afton...
The Spiteful Brakevan can be seen in the background at the 5:33 mark.
This adaptation is amazing
Now this is the good stuff, do more of these story’s lad
So basically an old coach gets insulted, and takes the engine away
Ive been tipped off by one of my contacts that they found afton derailed in a lake several miles away, apparently afton and his crew discovered they left the train behind, so whilst going back there they derailed on a bridge and fell off, the river dragging afton away, the crew spent the night at crovans gate but lost part of their memory because of a big bump in their heads, atlesst the ghost wasnt real.
This story is like a incident of a train enter a tunnel and didn’t come out but the different is the hole train have disappear but this story just the engine and the front coach just disappear
It's the most intense and creepy episode I've ever seen!
The last Afton and the old cocah running scared me!
The red engine in this story looks like James Compare it James games and this engine and are 2 angry engines
This reminds me of the “Lost colony “.
A spectacular adaptation of 22Tesla's Story. It matches the audio perfectly.
Whoa that awesome story
I believe that the coach that didn't belong in the midnight express might be the ghost of the sister coach that Afton had crushed behind his tender, it must be wanting to get revenge on the engine who ended her life.
Sir Handel doesn’t know it. He saw the ghost of Afton. I know what happened after that story. When that lead coach Afton was pulling was split in half, that coach wanted to take revenge for how he treated her and her sisters. The lead coach was a ghost. It put it self on the “Midnight Special” and it took Afton with him to show that coaches can’t be treated with disrespect or they will come back to haunt.
Despite you have to use Geoffrey as Afton for the adaptation, you still did a splendid job on doing this remake on the wandering coach.
Think of it as a play, with most of the engines playing themselves and Geoffrey playing Afton.

What's interesting is the wandering coach was behind afton the whole time
Great video and story!!!!
Shows that after death afton learned his lesson
This was incredible, very spooky to me.
And this begs the 2 obvious questions
1. If that single axel coach that somehow got on Afton’s train is the same coach he destroyed how did it end up on the express in the first place unless it was a powerful ghost from the dead wanting revenge?
2. What did happen to Afton for real?
Some questions are better left unanswered.
Yes but these are some of those questions that should be answered
@@adamtain7627 Would it really matter? It doesn’t detract from the story

The only problem I have with the story is that you didn’t faithfully adapt the fact that in the railway series and the original story the big station was supposed to be Vicarstown but besides that good

Im one of Sodor Railway Enthusiast, and i love to railfanning took pitcure of train passed by. However one night i was try to trainspotting night train such as night mail and the midnight goods, however that time i was decide trainspotting at mainline. Its was kinda rainny that night. However i start to heard a whistle echo as there a flash red from the enggine cab i start think it might be midnight goods our the night mail that were behind schedule. As the enggine passed i start to realize that it was a unfamiliar train since the train was LNWR Claughton and hauled single axel coaches behind him and whistle with his face that seem smiling and as the enggine start vanished into the night i can heard the enggine laughing maniacly at the distance. After that i start remember what my friend told me about story called the wandering coach, ny face start turn pale and im imedietly run back to my car and head home, terified. After that, at certain night, i didnt dare myself to trainspotting just after midnight. After that day i start traumatized for few week until its finally start to vanished and gone from my head
Afton a careless engine
So does that mean the engine and the coach are ghosts? I know the coach is a ghost, but how could turn him into a ghost?
Wait a minute long for you maybe not installed song actually got into an engine and that engine was named after after William Afton and Michael Afton so maybe that engine was before a part of the family before the part of the family was a person before but she died and was reborn into a Engine

That whistle almost sounds like the one from Derail Valley.
I knew it sounded familiar. I just started playing Derail Valley recently myself.

Derail Valley is a recent development that's come into the railroading world which puts you into the perspective of taking on different jobs and progressing in "rank". Its mainstay is it's in VR, but you can play the game without it too.
