    I just calculated for Chicago area, with same size of a roof it would require 84.45 yard size "dry well" ;)) (our PF tabular number is 6.84 !!)
    Thanks for the info and I wish you operate in Chicago area,

      You might want to consider another option.

    This video was excellent and far better than the other one I tried to use, and the math even worked properly and wasn't overly complex!

    Thanks so much, keep em coming I’ve watched them all. I’m waiting for the video on what someone does with runoff who can’t tie in to a drain or catch basin. Thanks

    Yeah, so I've done the calculations, how does that help me size the drain pipe?

    It's not like we're getting a lot of rain here in Michigan this year!

      Downriver had a "100 year flood" this spring. Last one was only 6 years earlier. You have to be ready for this stuff

      @@dongemus You're right. The term "100 year flood" means a certain high level of water that is likely to happen once in 100 years, but there is nothing stopping a series of 100 year floods from happening in a row, just like someone could flip several heads in a row. They occur independently of each other.

    When you do your area all you have to do is if it’s 40x100=4000
    .0104x4000x5.1 for rainfall=212.16 gpm

    I have 14' of clay and can't get rid of it. Also have 7 1/2 acre field that drains to my 1 acre yard. My roof is 32' x 64' and I'm fighting the water with 3 sumps because my basement is to deep. Sand is only about 1-2' under my floor. I live in southwest michigan and can't wait for it to stop raining... My downs run into a 3' diameter concrete pipe 6ft deep. This is about 40' from my house. If you have any suggestions please let me know. Thanks!

    The gallon raiting number is for gallons per hour? Gallons over 24 hour period? Per down spout? The info to get the number got me this far but not on selecting the right side pipe

    • @shlebmo
      @shlebmo Před rokem

      It’s gallons per minute

    • @rotcod2886
      @rotcod2886 Před rokem

      I'm not entirely positive. But I believe the number of gallons, before you divide by the number of downspouts, is the amount per 24-hour period. To get gallons per minute, you'd divide by 24 (for the amount per hour), then divide by 60 to get gallons per minute. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
