It is up to them to improvise. But,if the pitching and diction go awry( as seen here) the purpose is defeated! I appreciate covers and different versions of songs. One has to learn from Rafi Saheb and SPB as to how improvisations work within the framework of the notes and diction. They are good singers.But,this one is absolute drivel.

@@sreekanthize There is a difference in singing differently and missing swaras and Thalam. Take a look at the video and see how the orchestra catches up with the erroneous pitching/ scale. Furthermore,missing out on sangathis is an issue.If they had improvised on the sangathis,I would have appreciated that.( Let us respect different styles).Here both the sangathis and the improvisation are awry. If you want to learn more about improvisations,watch the videos of Rafi Saab and SPB.They are inch perfect in pitching/ scale despite improvising!
