I like how she actually became good buddies with her bassist roommate. Kinda sweet
Awkward moment when she kicks ass on Gibson Les Paul. Voilà! New Gn'R.
He's a bobblehead.
@@liam1558 thats cause he vibin'
@@skyin5674 yeah. Good bassist vibe.
the bass player was the best part of this video let's be real
$800 in NYC will get you a cardboard box.
Eszra it's a joke lmao chill
Eszra doesn't look like it but aight
Eszra eh it's fine. it's not your fault.
true
a *used cardboard box
I live in NYC. Everything you've just watched is true.
Soluchi {Michael Jackson Lookalike, Dancer, VFX} lmao true
Soluchi {Michael Jackson Lookalike, Dancer, VFX} ikr
Soluchi {Michael Jackson Lookalike, Dancer, VFX} same
Yep all true. NYCCCCC
Soluchi {Michael Jackson Lookalike, Dancer, VFX} welp not for me lmao
Or she coulda just taken the 6 straight to Brooklyn bridge city hall and got the J there without the need to hop on the F...just sayin...but yeah this was a very accurate depiction. As a native New Yorker I do sometimes find it hard to believe the love people have for this city. I know it can be great and I do have my 'I love New York' moment, but people come here expecting glamor and unless you have a lot of money its not going to be an episode of Sex and the City...
what you're saying is.... new york sucks and Chicago is better?
Seeing as I've never been to Chicago I couldn't answer that accurately, though based on the brutal Winters and the wind I would say no. Had you chosen a city in a warm weather climate I may have been inclined to agree with you ;)
both are great in their own right, but just get tired of hearing about new york and l.a like they're the only to cities in America.
ooooohhhhh woooo since do we say hop on the train, we take the train, or you can catch the train, just fuckin around
so you mean NEW YORK IS NOT COOL LIKE IN SEX AND THE CITY? :O:O:O:O my dreams....my hopes....nooo
If you can't swipe a metro card.
If you've never raced to see if your train was is in the station.
If you go to Times Square.
If you only think of Manhattan and not our other great boroughs.
You probably didn't grow up here.
amen
PREACH
I'm 15, born and raised in Staten Island and go to times square or central park where I'm bored with friends like every other week😂
Modz x Rebirthh what's wrong with that park?is it like a tourist sight and new yorkers don't go there or what?i mean it makes sence, you don't see many people that live in Athens at Akropolis because they can visit it whenever they want but you see a lot of tourists from other countries or greek people from other towns or islands.
I live in Manhattan and my friends and I always play spot the tourist 😂
"where am I???"
Come on she doesn't know what times square is??
LOL
a coffee intern makes more than 2400 to pay rent? o.O sign me up.
LMAO MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY!!
lovefoolxloveme ok
I thought she paid 1200 cus she got a roommate
@@pnantola7161 it's probably his house
There is one problem here...they made the housing too cheap
Forreal unless they're getting a studio apartment that's not in Manhattan
but what if the reality IS my expectation?
kareem soenharjo Then you're gonna be happy!
+Jason Lam if the reality is your expectation then you're rich or have a sugar daddy
Then get ready for you expectations to be fufilled
@@Jaydizzlenessss I think you mean if the expectations were her reality, she would be rich (not the other way around)
Maybe the expectations are not very high, but just plainly realistic knowing it’s NY...if you TRULY know what to expect, then your reality will be just what you expected.
That bass guy is groovy
I'd truthfully have no problem with him playing that bass all day. At least he knows how to play it good.
Monster Movie Maniac
And he does that funny head thing XD
does anyone know the name of the song?
I never knew people had such awkward dreams.
The expectations were almost as bad as the reality.
As someone who's lived in New York all my life, I can say that all of this is true.
I loved the bass player omg hahaha
+Melanie Mertens The head bop. XD
I lived in New York at one point:
As to why I ever moved there I will never know, but I got the hell out as soon as I could.
I live in NYC and I will never understand why people like this city, it you're not rich then it's shitty. People are annoying and rude and after a while you start becoming rude, everything is expensive, there are rats everywhere in the train stations which is gross. Tourists are annoying as hell sometimes. It's just a train wreck here.
Exactly I know how you feel. Like everyone gets so surprised when I ask what's so good about NY.
But, they got the best pizza. Especially in Manhattan. Around every corner is a excellent pizzeria with hot fresh pizza. But the subway does suck.
thats what i tell everyone.
It's amazing when you come from a shitty town in North East England where there's nothing to do other than go swimming in the North Sea, which is fu****g freezing.
come on its NY, thats whats its about if you want cali you gotta kick rocks, the city is what makes us strong
You forgot Spiderman. We all expect to see him.
I have a picture
And that crazy old dude on broadway with a cannabis costume.
Every tourist out there should, check out Riker's Island! Its a very nice neighborhood, low crime rates, and very low costs! Also you get a good view of the city!
Lmao
hes legit guys
Pretty sure everybody has heard of Riker's Island. Not as famous as Alcatraz but well known to know that you're trolling
The5starSTUNNNA 100% true yup for sure
The5starSTUNNNA hmm.... with all them criminals locked up there it would be a low crime rate...... but I'm not sure people want to live on an island with 10 jails on it. That's probably why it has low rent. True, it has the most spectacular view in the world. But what about the risk of inmates escaping?
I recently went to New York City and I watched them film the metro part but had no clue.
You left out the part where the statue of liberty is a weeping angel. Just saiyan.
...super saiyan....4....gogeta...
Zeruckiven The statue of liberty is actually in New Jersey waters
SharmiS For now.
+Zeruckiven statue of liberty IS A SUPER SAIYAN!!!!
+SharmiS because we blinked.
The reality is kind of how I expected New York to be.
ob1vi0n17 yea but NYC is completely different from upstate New York
For the people who say "New York isn't like this," these are only expectations that were probably made by people who DON'T live in New York. Just like in the video, expectations aren't always the truth.
The "truth" part doesn't apply to all of NY, there are always exceptions.
that last feeling...when you just "get" something without even trying...love it in any situation :3
Person: "It's a little pricey, but $800 will get you this" *Shows nice apartment*
Me: "Boy, $800 won't even get you a cabinet in that apartment."
Also, the subways are NEVER that empty, idk where you guys are talking about.
+AttackOnMac Depends on the time/day and exactly what station.
LeSpireGirl It'd have to be somewhere between 9:30 AM and 4:30 PM during the summer, and throughout the rest of the year, 9:30 AM and 2:00 PM, anything after that won't work. Either kids are getting out of school, and/or people are getting out of work.
And mostly stations in Manhattan are like that.
Manhattan isn't the only place in New York. heck it isn't even the only place in New York City. just in New York City itself there are 5 boroughs. this video isn't really accurate at all. living in New York isn't as bad as people make it seem. in fact i wouldn't ever want to live anywhere else but here
wow thanks! finally something good about nyc
This comment made my day. I live in Queens and of I ever see any tourists here it is to get to the airports. As great as Manhattan is, Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Staten Island are pretty awesome too.
harmeet horan. Lol, new yorkers
harmeet horan. Hi. were you born there ?
harmeet horan.
okay but is it possible to find a proper property 3 beds apartment or condo in new york city ? close to everywhere.
Depends if you are gonna live there or just visit.
Reminds me of London...oh the oyster card, how you have betrayed me numerous times.
I feel you man! Oysters suck!!
haha here in Hong Kong we have octopus cards, they are really useful tho.
Same
Same with my compass card in Vancouver :')
I don't find many cities in America to be particularly inspiring. Europe is the way to go. Vienna, Salzburg, Rome, Venice, Paris, London, Athens.. all stunning! New York on the other hand is kinda depressing (dunno maybe its all the grey tower blocks and pollution).
ehmm, i wouldnt be so sure about Athens [am Greek] Athens is cool only if you know exactly where to go. i guess every big city is like this. on the other hand if you visit our islands or other places at north and south Greece, yes they are truly good.
You should try Stockholm, it's built on small islands in an archipelago but with 2 million people in it ^^
FiR3Dr4g0n Well we can agree on the Greek Islands part. I remember visiting Rhodes and standing on top of the 2000 year old Acropolis overlooking the Aegean Sea! That little island alone is wroth 10 New Yorks :)
darius savory I live in Stockholm so it's pretty meh but on summers it's amazing with all the little ferries you can take and all the small bridges, there are many romantic spots in Stockholm ^^
darius savory Never been there =(
And find casey neistat
would be amazing ahaha
The icon of big apple
I have a pic with him.
+Celia Goldstein I LOVE your profile pic. #hamiltrash for life
the joy of confusing tourists 1:33 haha
Lol $800? I don't think that gets you anything anywhere, the cheapest I see housing here is 1500 for a one bedroom almost doubt that
Well, you just gave me another reason NOT to go to NY.
It's a great place to visit, not to live. Unless you have millions of dollars.
How do people that make minimum wage live in NYC?
Abou Hanbal They don't
YukioTheExorcist So where do all the people live that do minimum wage jobs in NYC?
I didn't ever think New York like the expectations in the video
I know. I thought this video was going to talk about how much better it is than what people think.
Eric By Definition
Same
last one is so true
I just expect Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack behind me singing New York while I sit in Times Square.
You should do one on L.A. I live here and I have all my life and I have cousins from Ohio who think L.A is this magical place (and the stereotypical Hollywood and Southern California coast fantasy) when most of that is crap.
Yes, but once you move away you will miss it....trust.
Cyndi
true. I can't imagine growing up anywhere else :)
Ohio sucks
Aissata Aw
However, I am always fascinated by the amount of stars you can see and the firefly's whenever I go to visit.
nelson gibson stars? never see them
As someone who moved here recently I can confirm everything on this list, plus more
I want to see a tv series about this girl and her bass playing room mate.
If you really want to live in New York and you can't afford it try Brooklyn .... Cheaper and a lot of the kids out of college are moving there and making it a lot more innovative
+Emily Walker Manhattan is not THAT expensive. I graduated from MIT and moved straight to Manhattan you can easily survive on 120,000 a year with little difficulty.
+Divine Campe we all college student do not end up at MIT or get a 120,000 dollar job off the bat, kudos to you to graduating from there but for the rest of us that didnt make it to MIT, Brooklyn is a pretty awesome place and is basically a haven for new ideas
+Divine Campe
You're lucky if you make $30k a year in New York... Not all of us are lucky enough to survive on *"just"* $120k
Fuckin' mook
[I'm from the Albany area though, so not NYC]
Divine Campe
I don't mean literal luck, as it doesn't exist. It's a colloquial expression.
+Emily Walker "If you cant afford New York try Brooklyn? Last time i checked Brooklyn IS in New York, so is Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island....just saying...
I live in New York and I can confirm every single thing in this video
Don't get your hopes up too high when you visit here
This is true for most cities, not just in America. I went Europe last year and alot of those cities made me want to go back to New York a curl up in a subway tunnel
I've always had a good time visiting tho.... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
i want to study in new york when i graduate of school and i know i'm gonna get lost every single day
dont worry, everything is a grid and the streets are numbered, you wont get lost :)
***** i get lost in my own city everyday and i have lived here forever
I got lost and got SOKED in the rain such a terrible day
as being born and raised in nyc i might be bias but its actually a really easy city to navigate, (except downtown manhattan) its mostly gridded out streets and ave.
Michael Sandoval Haha very true. Anything above East Houston marks the numerical grid map. Anything below... I grew up just remembering places and coffee shops and you'll associate street names.
I work in New York, and I hate Times Square the most. Not from the tourist blocking my way to my office (BoA tower), it's because the people in costumes scare the shit out of me. Especially the Woodys.
And the me's
Noe Nazer Sounds like times square.
+daduncker2.0 Dude i feel you. I was just trying to get from A to B and I no joke got jumped by the devil, a baby and woody. I also saw this guy with a sign advertising for a strip club so yeah.
I don't mind Times Square (as long it's not ANYWHERE near the holidays!)
I hate China Town. I visit there frequently cuz I love the food. But the pushy elderly vendors drive me INSANE!!!! Can't walk ten feet without them pushing five different deals in my face!!!!
🎤In New yoooooork, concrete jungle where Dreams are made of, there's nothing you can't doooo
What about buying a house with a minimum wage, or walking calmly through the street?
Upstate NY is nothing like it
Concrete jungle wet dream tomato
Or not walking past someone holding up a protest sign, or sleeping peacefully?
+Snowy Llama ... and can afford to have a savings account and travel frequently anywhere you chose including NyC
Best city in the world ❤️
I've lived in New York all my life, and I can confirm this.
I just moved from another country. How can you live with us newcomers?? )))
Meh, I don't pay any mind to them.
Lord Endanz
Actually, what do you think about us? How can you describe us? Like: "the majority is funny", or "scared", or "..." )
We have hard time first years, we differ.
A n d r i i k o -this is 4 months old omg sorry- Well, I live in Brooklyn, and from what I see, there's a large variety of races and ethnicity and stuff, so if you're unsure about whether or not you'll feel like an "oddball", then you'll be fine lol((but this is based on what I've experienced, so don't take only my word for it lol))
TiShA はバナナです
I live in Brooklyn too ) Classmates in college are immigrants. I study English. So now I feel myself ok )
May I write on my wall "pizza brings peace to humanity"? I like that )
new york is fucking amazing. regardless of the bullshit
uh huh sure it is.
It actually is a nice place I love it here
Seriously, the best time to be in NYC is Sunday morning, when everyone is still asleep. No parking restrictions, no crowds.. just you, the coffee shops, and Strands/Forbidden Planet (or whatever your favorite spot is)!
Expectation: New York City! The Big Apple! Lights! Central Park, Times Square! I get to try the NYC food!
Reality: Smoke...lots of it... Quite a lot of homeless people.... Okay food... Very loud. It's louder than I thought it would be, but it's quieter than people tell me. To sum it up: Meh...
Yeah same
Yeah, Sunday's are great times for homeless people to make you give them your money! I've must have encountered about 3 like once in a while, but I gave like a dollar to one of the homeless, and he said, God bless you, stay in school! So thankful, I'd wish I had more to spare but it's always a support yourself thing!
I live in NYC but in Queens. It's a bit like the suburbs and not too many homeless people. Manhattan is awful.
I'll stay in Europe
+Cxdrxc K take me with you
+Rapture582 He says he will stay not travel there lol.
+Jordan Left haha come to Paris, it's not that messy over here (like in New York)
I have been to Paris twice with my family. I love the eiffeltower and Disneyland!
+Jordan Left disneyland is lifeee
Still love this city man
I went to NY once and one day I decided to walk the city by myself without any help. I was staying in Parkchester and believe it or not, I got around just fine by myself and got all the way to Times Square. Walked around, then took more random trains and got off on random spots, and just explored. Around 10 pm, I decided to get back to Parkchester and I did, without even getting lost once. I love NY. That was a great day. I hope I can go back again one day. That was in 2002.
lol I love the bassist xD
I want that roommate. He's loe a sidekick that silently bobs his head while watching Netflix and following you around New York.
Couldn't imagine anything more depressing than ending up somewhere like New York or anywhere you move with high expectations and realise it's a shit hole.
It's just really urban. The subways are kinda annoying though.
Awesome Tiger You'd feel really insignificant amongst all the hustle and bustle, especially if you were small.
I love it here it takes time tho
Don't get me wrong, I love NYC. But it's just too fcking expensive to live in man. $70K/annual salary just barely gets you but in your own and that's a nice professional salary in most parts of the country.
These expectations, are ridiculous! LooL, for any state really. Don't believe everything you see on TV, people. XD
I know right the first time I went to Disneyland. People say its the place where dreams come true. I went there and it was so hot it took 2 hours to wait to go inside and then anothe r hour to wait for rids.
Michele T Damn, that's terrible! :O
Michele T But Disney Land is still f-fing awesome. xD
So people really go to disney land, eh?f
cries.
Hahaha Bassman is pretty cool...
As someone who was born, raised, and still lives here, I love NY and think it's amazing!....if you can get past all the crap. But even then, we have some weird love/hate thing with most of the bullshit.
I've lived in NY for my entire life and I've never been to NYC
Not cool
Allison Panzica bsmart
Smart*
You should go. You're lucky to live in the same state as the city.
People just need to know that New York is nothing like the movies. It's a real city with its good and bad things.
Haha that man on the bass just too funny shaking his head :)
Living in Brooklyn I could definitely confirm most of this video .
I've been to New York once and will never go back
+Flappybird15 cost of living violence so crowded ect
+brandon612 violence? really? i'm from the Bronx, and i have seen more violence here in Miami than my 18 years in NYC lol. The cost of living is ridiculous though...
mrnegrocheese2 ok well just saying their is more there than where i live. its just my opinion
Who cares? Bye.
+Chris Manzino yep the slums
That bass guy actually looks like a nice roommate.
I'd like to room with the bass guy :D
wouldn't have it any other way but crazy. Looove New York
Pretty accurate....
ya know when you say "New York" It's not only the city, there's more to New York than buildings everywhere, It has a country side too
I felt this to my soul. NYC was so disappointing to me. I expected lights, glitz, glam. I got smells, dirt and drab.😭😭
I live in NY and this couldn't be more true.
I have never set foot in North America let alone New York yet I know that if anyone had those expectations then they need help.
I love how people think New York City is one of the dirtiest cities in the US, even though we're one of the greenest due to our huge system of public transportation.
So fu.
Or walk to Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall and take the 6 uptown transfer to Canal Street then walk to the same name station with the J and Z train service.
Not even that she could have caught it @ Brooklyn brige the j and z are side f Brooklyn bridge is called chambers street
isaiah castro True True
+Alex Vaquez sorry a New York moment I take that way to the 5 train to get to work in the Bronx
isaiah castro Wow. My takes longer. From the 161 to either the 7, E, or N depending on which is available.
***** From where I love to NYC and vise versa
What about the other 7/8 of New York?
A little better, but normal...er.
Boring af if your not in the right places. If you live in rochester, you can get to Canada fast. Or just go be Canadian, because NY state is butt.
Lol, the bass player roomie needs his on web show!
That moment where your head is the subway map and you nail train directions. Also when you tell people that Manhattan is in NYC, it's not NYC.
So, did she hook up with the guitar guy?
*BASS*.
As a New Yorker, I approve of all of this. Very accurate.
The bassist is cute.
I really like the guy that sgakes his head all the time lol :D
Expections = $$Rich$$
Reality = Everyones usual life
LOL
You should do one of these on London...
I would say London easily lives up to its expectations, great City. Don't live far from it either.
Same Joe- a few miles for me... not all of it lives up to its expectations though...
Joe Alexander I've heard the opposite. As an American, I've got friends who were really disappointed. Still want to visit someday.
Lots of it is lovely... You hsve to find it...
TGTSTS Pffft don't do that. America is filled with terrible people who serve you half a** food. The people are cold not only in heart but in mind and body. Don't ever go to Chicago, oh god.....huge disappointment!
I've been to NYC once and I never want to set foot in that city again. No offense to anyone who may love it, but it's not for me.
Total chaos at all times. Times square is full of freaks and a strip club. everything is over crowded, especially the subways.
***** I find it absurd how you or anyone else can believe Times Square somehow represents NYC as a whole.
Woah don't hate in it nyc is a good place you haven't seen it's beauty
I like how in the end everything worked out. Like reality. She started dating her roommate. and New York truly became her home.
As a New Yorker I can attest that all of this is so true! LOL! I look forward to seeing more of your videos! You just earned a new subscriber! :)
To each his own, but Goddam I LOVE NEW YORK CITY!!!!!!!!!!!! FYI, if you're not loaded, don't stay in Manhattan. Aim for Williamsburg in Brooklyn, or go further out in Queens. DO. NOT. GO. TO. THE. BRONX.
I laughed my ass off to this!
Of course you forgot Staten Island!
Why not the Bronx?
LOVE THE CITY AND MANHATTAN AND BROOKLYN BUT WHY NOT THE BRONX? If you know where to go in the Bronx it can be SOOOO much fun.
***** Idk I guess just growing up in the city, I find it a lot more entertaining then I would other places. Especially if you know where to go in the city. All this video does is show that the city attractions are a bust. but that's not technically true for all people
nice work :))))))))))))))))
LOL! I love how there are martinis everywhere, even in the subway!
As a New Yorker, I can say that the Subway is the most annoying thing ever. If you are in the underground stations in summer or winter, you are bound to be in a sauna. I still love it though.
The city of New York looks like it smells bad.... Just all that concrete, so many people and cars... No trees... BUT of course, I could be wrong.
You're correct. But, you just grow to love the smell :p
As a New Yorker, all you smell is car gas and cigarrettes, expecially in times square, EVERYONE smokes in New York -_-
Yes there’s that awful smell all the time, which it turns out it shares with San Francisco which is filthier, dirtier. Both are equally bad choices.
still.. New York rulessss!!
This is so true for NYC & LA.
Her roommate is the chillest sober (I'm assuming) person I've ever seen.
Hey I'm a bass player and I've been told that I move my head like that dude in this clip from time to time. I was dead when I saw that!!!!!
I've been in LA and New York City. I rather live in NY city than LA. .... But now I'm @ DC
This is so spot on its ridiculous.
The roommate cracked me up. Please have him in every video!
Pretty similar to Toronto except we don't have trash in every corners and 10 billions rats
I beg to differ
i have an irrational hate for canada...basically cuz they think they are perfect.
thank you
tornto is cleaner. people are respectful
I don't even live there and I agree. When i went to new york i was so disgusted by the piles of trash in every corner.
the romance one was hilarious.
Spot on!
This is so true. I had such high expectations, and I was disappointed.
