  • Kingda Ka at Six Flags Great Adventure is the world's tallest roller coaster and the second fastest roller coaster in the world. Standing a whopping 456 feet tall, this Intamin strata-coaster uses a hydraulic launch to accelerate riders from 0 to 128 mph in just 3.5 seconds. The coaster may be short, but it's an adrenaline rush. But how does it compare to the other Intamin acclerators like Top Thrill Dragster or Red Force? Find out in this review!

    ive ridden both, and i prefer this to dragster, but slightly, and its cuz ka is a more intense ride like u said, the launch acceleration is actually statistically more intense and u can feel it, plus it has the pulsed launch as well, and the pullout of the drop is more intense cuz it is longer cuz it has to go up into the speed hill which makes the positives sustained for an extra second or two, and restraints dont make a difference on a ride for me unless they are rly bad, and ka's arent that bad, and roughness doesnt make a difference for me unless its rly bad as well, and ka rly isnt that rough, and tbh i find that the shuffle on its launch kinda makes it better cuz it makes it feel more aggressive, i also never got airtime on dragster so the trim thing doesnt rly matter, im not saying that ka is smoother or more comfortable than drasgter, cuz its definitely not, but i just value intensity more than comfort

    I rode Kingda Ka back in 2012 and it is my favourite roller coaster I have ever done. I found the wind terrifying due to how intence the launch is. So for that reason alone I prefer Kingda Ka over Top Thrill Dragster, as I did visit Ceader Point, Kings Island & Six Flags Great Adventure. While Ceader Point was my best all round theme park, Kingda Ka & Nitro were my top 2 rides on the whole trip. I'm from the UK BTW.

      @@CanobieCoaster Stealth is fine. It's a great ride for warming up my day at Thorpe without question. However I don't feel the launch on stealth as much due to its acceleration feeling so fast before having time to react. Out of Kingda Ka, Top Thrill Dragster & Stealth, Stealth is my least favourite as I only get several second rush at most on the top hat. Comming down the top hat doesn't really feel like a Drop, unlike on KK & TTD. Stealth is my #4 Coaster at Thorpe BTW, behind Colossus, Nemesis Inferno & Swarm.

  • @Megacoasterman
    @Megacoasterman Před 6 měsíci

    I have to mention Ka has a horrifying 2nd jolt down the launch track, I know you mentioned it but it is absolutely crazy. If you watch the speedometer video by Drag Times and time it closely, on part of it it accelerates from 61-90 mph in 0.3 seconds. I believe it because I have never felt a rolling pulse of acceleration that is more intense than any standstill yank I have felt. You really can't see it coming. I actually found it closely as intense as Maxxforce's start. Maybe it's because I rode boost mode (2nd train of the day) but it felt equally as intense the 2nd time around.

      I have! I'm hesitant to review that one since I know it wasn't running at peak form. I was one of only two on the train and it only cycled when we rode it. I've heard that ride can give great rides if you have a full train and get it warmed up, but that's hard to do at Tobu Zoo unless you have a big group.

  • @collinparsons3363
    @collinparsons3363 Před 2 lety

    The station has 4 load points, two on each side, one for each of the 4 trains. 4 train operations were used from the opening year through 2010. In 2011, they started running 3 trains through the front load point on the right side. Kingda Ka's ridership record was set in 2013 using this setup. New Jersey actually requires rides over 300 feet to have OTSRs, so that's why Kingda Ka has them. Also, as of 2021, Kingda Ka can operate simultaneously with Zumanjaro.
    I rode Kingda Ka for the first time in 2013, and I've always liked it. I haven't been on Dragster or Red Force, so I have no idea how it compares. My only complaint is the fact that it often isn't ready to go at park opening.

    It has OSTR because NJ law says any ride over 300ft must have OSTR and you can thanks action park for NJ strict laws and NJ does not allow zumanjaro and kingda ka to operate at the same time because of Lose articles

    I don't think Zumanjaro has the same loose article policy as Kingda Ka, El Toro, and Joker because they have bins in the ride platform, and no one said anything to me when I placed by phone and keys in the bin before riding. Also, I first rode Kingda Ka before a giga coaster when I was 11 and I was terrified.

    Sometimes there are delays that mean a train has to sit on the launch track for minutes, and because there is no clear countdown or launch cue (unless you know what to listen for mechanically), the riders sit in unbearable suspense for all that time. You will definitely hear a lot of screaming from riders losing their minds when this happens.
