I head out to one of my small creek locations in search of rare antique bottles! I stumble across some amazing finds that blow my mind! I guess this qualifies as river treasure or ditch treasure haha! Treasure hunting in Alabama is one thing that never disappoints!

Whoever came up with the idea to turn broken bottles into drinking glasses was a genius. Such an awesome was to save broken to bottles!
Thank K tel from back in the 70s. They came out with the idea. I use to watch their commercials as a kid.
@@ricknelson576 Me too! It was Ronco. And I actually have an original Ronco bottle cutter still in the box never used. I might have to pull the puppy out and use it. 🙂 🍾
At least I think it was Ronco. I think I have it stored in my mother Storage unit. gonna have to go look for it. And bring it home.
I was doing it in the 70s but after a few hundred you have enough, not to mention we were digging good dumps with lots of good bottles in them.

I hope you enjoy yourself. I used to dig up crazy stuff in my yard just gardening. My house is over 200 years old, so it predates garbage disposal. 😂
Get into privy digging, I use to dig Baltimore city, had some great finds

An old bottle digger from the 60’s and 70’s. Life came along and haven’t dug a bottle for almost 50 years but it’s always been in my blood Your videos have brought back a lot of memories and now have me eager to get out and start hunting again. Keep the videos coming.

Its great that you re use/repurpose these great bottle finds ! Where I used to live there was a small dump site with old glass bottles that didn't have seams. Alot of white glass/green glass with the rare blue glass. Your video reminds us that sometimes glass treasures aren't always right in front of you, but small creeks are a new source that do provide some rare finds ! !

I never realized that there could be so many bottles in creeks and streams, not to mention ones that have value. It's smart to metal detect and look for bottles it never crossed my mind until watching a few of these videos. Where I live there's not many bottles in the streams I guess people are a little bit more conscious of recycling and so forth

Awesome man, I’m in central Alabama. I found your channel a few months ago, you inspired me to hunt the local creeks around me. I’ve found three really cool bottles. I was able to look them up and they are from the 1890s. It’s actually a lot of fun to do!

The straight sided coke with heal damage would make a great Nik-nak container. Don't always have to be a drinking glass candidate. Especially with crack filling glue they use for car windshields. Could put some pens or desk items in it. 😃

Another entertaining video. Nice to know the broken bottles will function again as up cycled drinking glasses. Still scares me that you go out alone and face the risk of getting bit by a snake. Not sure I could do it. Have a great weekend and watch out for things that slither.

Cutting those old bottles without breakage is an art.
It's a piece of cake if you use a wet Tile Saw .

Just found your channel. So interesting to see so much in that creek.
I used to have a wonderful collection of all sorts of old bottles that I found exploring in Missouri. Lots of medicine bottles of all sizes and a set of what I was told were faceted vinegar bottles in three different sizes.
Due to some health issues they had to be sold to raise funds.
I love hunting for them and pondering what their history was.
Hope you show the finished product of the bottles made into drinking glasses.
