    I was anxiously waiting for you to upload a new video about these forks, thanks, the suspension was killing me.

    Good overview mate, I have my Yari fork fitted with an Charger 2.1 RC2 with Hi/Lo compression, with a 170 spring. Made such a difference.

    Interesting to hear this. I have a Heckler SL with the Lyrik Select + and I'm really not happy with it. It's way too harsh, on the brink of really hurting your wrists... Different setups, more pressure, less pressure than reccomended didn't help. I now rebuilt the fork which made things slightly better but still not how I'm expecting it after all the reviews. Will get it tuned later this year, lets hope this helps... :)

      Thanks for the comment 👍 Sorry to hear you’re not getting on with the fork, had a couple of similar comments so you’re not alone. Not sure what else to say except hope you find a tune that works for you buddy 👍

      @@ForestMountainBiker Well I hope for the best :-) Unfortunately it will be end of august till it gets tuned.Until then I'll try running the fork with 30% as this seems to help according to the web... Event tho that means I run 25 psi less than recommended 😅
      Anyway in the end I'm still out on my bike so all good 🙂

      @@Lightleakz I had the exact same problems, but went back to manufacturer recommended pressure for better midstroke feel. However the fork is too harsh and too hard to use all the travel. I'm basically riding a 150 although, I got the 160... I will try other manufacturers going forward. Such a pity, the ZEB 2.1 ultimate was just 🔥

    It's Nice bro, no screws without mudguard is a very normal for UK retailers just like chainreaction cycvles would takeout high end brakes clamps & screws then sell them seperate £50_90!

  • @Mike_Rides_Bike
    @Mike_Rides_Bike Před 3 měsíci +1

    Thanks for your report. I have the same fork (160mm) and I have been struggling to use all of it's travel. In the video I could see that your sag-indicator (you know the "fun-o-meter") was also way below the actual max travel. Recently I have been decreasing the air pressure even further in order to get it to bottom out at all (from 70 PSI down to 60 PSI in small incerements). Which seems kind of nice at first, but there seems to be no middle ground somehow - either sacrifice the last 1-1.5cm of travel and never bottom out with a harsher feel, or bottom ever now and then with a more supple feel. I would appreciate your take on this?

    • @ForestMountainBiker
      @ForestMountainBiker  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Ah, I wiped the stanchions with a cloth as they were really dusty, so the o ring sag indicator thingy would have moved when I did that! 😅 I’m getting almost all the travel but probably not using the last 0.5 inch, I’m running a lot more pressure than you (100) but only 1 vol spacer but I have turned up the low speed and high speed compression high 👍 Working for me, again, lost a bit of suppleness I think 🤔

      @Mike_Rides_Bike Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@ForestMountainBiker thanks for the reply. I have removed all the tokens, but still find the fork too harsh even in the open settings. It's amazing for jumping and hard hits, but I'm having my issues with it on gnarly chatter.

    • @ForestMountainBiker
      @ForestMountainBiker  Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@Mike_Rides_Bike Fair, I ride jumps more than gnarly tech these days and would agree the fork seems naturally better for that type of riding 👍 Maybe try having low speed compression on max compression (or close to) if not already done so 👍

    • @jcbriskey
      @jcbriskey Před 22 dny +1

      @Mike_Rides_Bike I have just purchased the 150MM lyrik ultimate and having the same 'issue'. The reality is, I really believe this fork is intended to not bottom out easily at all, even without tokens. I'd recommend going off the air pressure that feels best and not focus on whether you are using that last bit of travel with the O-ring on normal rides. I probably have almost 10-15mm of travel I will not hit with the settings I like, unless I severely send one nose heavy to flat. I tried putting less than recommended air and the fork feels less supportive with more sag to me personally. i do however run a bit more open than middle settings and have been enjoying that while riding more technical rides. Cheers!

    • @Mike_Rides_Bike
      @Mike_Rides_Bike Před 22 dny

      @@jcbriskey thanks for sharing! Yeah, I made the same experiences in the meantime. My recommended pressure is 70psi, I went down to 48... Still not bottoming out... but, as you mentioned, the fork felt squashy, but still not plush. Anyway, now back to 70, but all compression open. Works well in general. Great for aggressive pushing and jumping, but sucks at everything else basically. That's my summary. I really like RS, but that's probably my last fork from them. Time to try other options.

    on your fuel ex gen 6, are you running 160mm fork with Mullet in rear, or full 29er with 160mm? what are your other settings on the Fuel Ex (mino link, shock progression, headset cups).. also how do you like that Vivid on the Fuel Ex? Harriet Harnden has been killing her Fuel Ex with vivid in racing lately.

    I have the same fork and it is absolute dog shit. No small bump sensitivity at all, no mod support and no bottom out resistance and as a finisher on repeated hits (even small ones like cobble stone) it would sometimes "freeze" sending sharp hit to my hands. Worst for i ever had, send it on a second warrants repair...
