Building In Ghana | Fault Finding | RCD Tripping Off During Heavy Rain

in this video, I have a client who called me to complain about a fault he has in his home and the fault is whenever there's a heavy downpour then there's a power cut at his downstairs whiles there's stable power at the upstairs. physical checks done, from main supply cables to the energy meter, to onload Changeover Switch and finally to the consumer unit or distribution board. there are many electrical outlets outside that might be responsible for the fault, so we will go back when next it rains and we will sort it out. #electric #solutions #ghana

I think he used the flexible wire for the phase indicators.

I think there is 1 neutral or live wire getting contact with the exposed metallic part of either the DB or the Change-Over. The dressing in the DB and the change over is very poor.

That will cause an electrical issue called short circuit and short circuit wouldn't be able to trip an RCD but MCB. Thank you so much for the observation and input. I really appreciate you.

Check very well , maybe water enter some sockets or switches

Yes whiles it normally happens when raining it can happen water enters somewhere in the electrical garget

Sometimes the RCD also tripped when there is water in the outside light

Please help me where would you connect the neutral in the changeover switch whiles you single phase meter?
