Three thousand years ago pilgrims, pharaohs, conquerors, and priests
walked the nearly two-mile long Avenue of the Pharaohs, also called The Avenue of the Rams, The Path of the Gods, The Avenue of the Dead, and the Avenue of the Sphinxes. The ancient sacred pilgrimage from the temple of Karnak to Luxor, is reenacted today by Egyptian rulers, the elite, and thousands of foreign tourists.
