    Good evening Jim,
    Never ever heard of them.
The start of the album reminds me a bit of Pink Floyd, Roger waters.
To you I give…I already have shivers running over my spine and my eyes are getting (very) moist. Indeed, this is very likely going to be one of those bands you want to hear everything off.
Uncivil war…I love those dark ambient sounds.

This is very much down my musical alley! I am intrigued by this band. I have never heard the name before! Cannot wait for next side!

  • @the_real_schopenhauer985

Interesting! I recently bought their "I, Vigilante" album but haven't listened to it yet.
Guess I need to rectify that.....

Love this band, been on my queue for about 15 years. Several outstanding albums, a great live album and a really good video. I Vigilante has been my favorite. Sadly, I am not a big fan of the latest album as they went political.
As an aside, a spin off band came out about 10 years ago, Vly. All really good music. Thanks to the member who requested this.

Album cover reminds me of "Death Stranding", very artsy video game... Engagement for ye, Jim! More thoughts to come...

Love the samples, a fair bit of Tool in the first track, but some more metal chord progressions... Good vocals, a nice texture to the guitar work.. think the chorus could probably use a bit more of a kick, bring in an additional guitar in a deeper, grittier register maybe..
You have to feel for people who want to make this kind of music these days because they can't really help but sound like the earlier groups..
They wear their influences on their sleeve i guess but that doesn't mean that they haven't crafted something really pleasing.. yeah i think they should bring in someone to add that mean guitar sound you get with some bands I'm thinking of which one could probably guess.. siamese dream might be what I'm thinking of

The silver vinyl looks pretty cool. I was curious how that would come out. 😁
To You I Give is one of those songs that just grows with every listen.
There's no Uncivil War Part 2 that I'm aware of. No idea why they did that unless it was just as a lark.
    Glad you're enjoying thus far!

Great band one of my favourites over the last 15yrs or so. I was drawn in by their initial style which was a cross between Post Rock and 71 Floyd. They slowly changed their style over the years but still great stuff. The last two albums have more of a sort of post punk sound, not quite as good as earlier stuff but still interesting.
This is mid period Crippled Black Phoenix, OK but earlier albums are better, Mankind the Filthy Ape is probably their best although I also like their second album, the double album release that's also available as two single albums.
They also did a great version of Floyd's Echoes, released on an ep a few years back.
Oh yeh, part two of that last track is on the cd version and it's a long one. Another reason that cds are better.

Another band that I've never felt inclined to listen to before now but, plainly, my loss. I do love the judicious use of spoken word samples (also hear Porcupine Tree's 'Last Chance to Evacuate Planet Earth Before it is Recycled') and the confidence to let the track breathe before they play any actual music! Nice lush production and pleasant melodies though not breaking any startlingly new ground. I vote 'Hit!' (You're old enough to remember the revivals of Juke Box Jury even if the original escaped you)
