      #NathanArandia There are several factors in how to talk Spanish quickly . A place I discovered that succeeds in merging these is the Fergs spanish blueprint (check it out on google) definately the no.1 resource i've seen. Check out all the unbelievable info .

      @@veeistiredasf From one Spanish-speaking country to another there are different ways to ask for something Example In Latin America you would say: " Me gustaría tomar un Jugo de Naranja", In Spain (Europe) you would say: "Me Apetece beber un Zumo de Naranja".

      @@maxrojas9714 that's really helpful thanks! my tecaher is very adamant on teaching us Spanish that's used in Spain and always tells us not to use Spanish spoken in Latin America. In my writing I used the word 'carro' for car but she corrected it to 'coche' but I'm pretty sure they mean the same thing :/

      @@veeistiredasf Both are correct, "carro" and "coche", however coche is more specific because carro can be one of the railroad or one drawn by horses and coche is what you call in English car.

    I really appreciate how you specify what native speakers say.
    While I come from a bilingual family, my generation wasn’t taught Spanish. Partially, it was due to living in an English speaking country, and partially due to racism experienced by some because they spoke Spanish.
    Now that I’ve been learning Spanish, I feel fortunate to have so many resources, and your channel is amazing.

    I'm Latino myself but I can never get a straight answer from my parents how to order politely in Spanish, because like you said I thought querer would be rude. Thanks for clearing that up for me

      Spanish is very easy to learn. Especially if your first language is a latin based language. Just engulf yourself and you will learn rapidly.

      Joe Bedford she is not telling you to say "yo" before ordering your food, she is just showing you that the form of querer is referring to yourself, rather than someone else.

    Two questions: why do you use tiene instead of tienes when saying you have? I thought you have is tienes and he/she has is tiene?
    And can you use "quisiera" (as in I would like) to order a meal?

      Emily Birch "tiene leche?" meaning you have milk? tiene is used to show some bit of respect to strangers or those older than you. "tienes leche?" is the same meaning ..you have milk? "tienes" mainly used for family, friends, or those younger than you. and yes you can say....quisiera ordenar...i would like to order. or quiero ordernar...i want to order. :)

      Emily Birch because you use tiene for usted (formal) and it's more polite than using tienes which is for tu (informal) that's what I took from it anyway.

    When I was in Mexico we ordered by saying "Puedo tener..." (Can I have..). I should have watched this video before hand so we would sound like natives ;)

    Me gustan tus vídeos, pero me encantaría que suba lecciones avanzados. A pesar de eso, me has ayudado porque siempre uso o "me gustaría" o "me encantaría" cuando pido comida en los restaurantes aquí en Perú. Desde ahora, voy a usar "Quiero" o "para mi" cuando esté con mis compañeros. Gracias por reforzar mi español; tus vídeos son hipnóticos. A pesar de nivel básico, me voy a subscribir a su canal.

      ten presente que " para mi " se usa cuando hay mas de un comensal y el que hace el pedido dice " para mi ensalada, para mi señora una omelette, y para los niños jamon ". Si es un solo comensal no se dice " para mi "

      Oh no. When one does not know those phrases one cannot actually get very very hungry. It happened to me once, when I visited an English speaking country and did not know the proper way of ordering ;(
