I am native Spanish speaker but here I am learning how to order food in Spanish, WTF 😂😂😂😆
😂
tico1983 youre not a native from spain
Charlie Coder In English, “Native Spanish speaker” doesn’t mean you’re from Spain. It means Spanish is your mother tongue. I’m a native English speaker, but I’m not from England. -Jim
@@funlanguages7922 who said I was from Spain? Is like if I was saying I am a native French speaker that doesn't means I am french. Also people from spain are not called Spanish but Spaniards just saying.
Hahaha, the same as me 😂😂
I like how everything was so polite and patient..
I taught conversational Spanish for four years to homeschool high school students. I took them to a Mexican restaurant here in California and everyone had to speak Spanish order the food in Spanish, pay speaking to the waitresses in Spanish etc. I’d go through the items too and have then tell me what it was in Spanish. Excellent way for kids to learn the language.
Great idea
That’s so cool! I wish my teacher had done something like that when I took Spanish!!
As a Mexican Spanish teacher this video was a Godsend! Thank you so much for a great video. It will be so useful for my class (I really wanted a video recorded in Mexico!). Thank you so so much.
If some of the translations were not backwards it would be great
So happy with this. It took me ages to find a good video on how to order food.
¡Gracias Jo! We're glad you found it useful. Much more to come. 😄
I've been learning Spanish in Barcelona, Spain for the last six months and people here use a different vocabulary when ordering food i.e. me gustaria..., querría..., voy a tomar...., me pones..., algo más?..., ya esta? and so on. It is fascinating to see how it differs from one country to another.
Joshkun Tepeli thanks for that. Have a Spain trip on the books.
I live in Mexico and we say "Me gustaria...." and "Voy a tomar...."
I have not used "Te encargo..." but will add it to my vocabulary. Thanks for that!
Si. Hay demasiadas expresiones utilizadas dependiendo del país. En mi caso yo diría :, quiero... Es más corto.
La cosa que aprendí en Ecuador 🇻🇪 es "de llegar", meaning carry out. So, maybe you can put that into use by asking, "¿Tiene comida de llegar?" At least, that's what I asked to find out if I could order food to go.
Joshkun Tepeli are u still in Spain 🇪🇸
It would be helpful to show how to resolve conflicts, like the food is too salty, too spicy or just tastes bad, when you didn’t order a dish, bill charges. A follow up lesson should cover those cases.
Thanks so much, Manuel!
These are all great ideas! We'll keep them in mind for future videos. :)
¡Un saludo!
-May
Con ese nombre manual, yo me imagino que ya sabés decir todo eso 😂😂jaja chiste amigo solo estoy molestando
if you arent a local spanish speaker with the local places accent complaining about the food is a sure way to have real problems with annoyed staff! Comes la comida con demasiado sal y lo te gustas

Watching this on my way to go to a restaurant 😂
buen suerte, lo necesitas
I studied at Colima University and I love all the hidden gems you show on your videos. Plus, I can show your lessons to my husband so that he can learn Spanish and see how picturesque this town is.
I'm a native speaker of Spanish, I just found your channel, it's so great, I'm practicing my English accent
That’s fantastic! We’re glad to hear that. Thanks for watching! Saludos. -Jim
If you want to learn Spanish, I found this is one of the best option.
Super helpful! We're going to have to get practising 😄 Thanks for sending the video through to us guys!!
Thanks guys! Glad you found it useful! ☺

It's funny for me to be watching this video, you know? I'm a native spanish speaker, and... Hearing how other people learn spanish is weird, because i see a lack in clearness and in forms, or words that aren't used at all. I guess i look that dumb to that Cambridge whatever guy that came last class yo be an example or something (?
Guys u are great 👌😍 continue
U have the best channel to learn spanish and culture👌😍😍😍😍gracias
I am learning Portuguese.🇧🇷🇵🇹
I angrily complain
@@mathv3761
Do you have some constructive advise and examples?
I hear “rico” a lot more often than “delicioso”
I do too. _Rico_ more commonly used in Mexico especially. Thanks for watching! -Jim
@@ReyCha96 😳 it's the deadly que rico papi, duo
¡riquísimo!
This was really good! I was able to understand your accents in Spanish so well! I’m improving 😱😊
Can’t wait for more videos!!
This is very helpful, thank you for the upload. I'm trying to muster up the courage to visit a Guatemalan restaurant in my neighborhood. I want to practice my Spanish while there, but I don't have enough vocabulary to do that just yet. But then I came across this video, took lots of notes. I will practice and hopefully I'll make it there this weekend.
I know you wrote this comment four years ago but I'd love to know how that went for you, and if you're still studying Spanish.
Las mejores lecciones de espanola de todos los tiempos. Muy claro y facil de entender.
This is very helpful - I like the words spelled out in the video and the verbal Spanish and English translations - this is the best way to learn Spanish and shown with common activities like ordering food at a restaurant. Gracias
I just moved to Mexico & know virtually no Spanish. Y'all are going to be gems over the next few months. Thank you for dedicating your time to do this.
Great channel to study spanish, easy to understand. Keep going for these kind of videos. Thanks so much!
Ly Nguyen thank you for watching! So glad to hear that it’s been helpful for you. Much more to come soon! ¡Saludos! -Jim
5:59 you can see the man feeding his daughter in the background for the same bite for 10 seconds lol
¡Qué bien! Gracias por producir este excelente vídeo. Se lo mostraré a mis estudiantes de español. Mil bendiciones 💖🤗🇻🇪🇹🇹
this video is one of the best as far as ordering meals in Spanish on CZcams. Please continue to make more videos. Thanks!
Thanks so much, John! That means a lot to us. We have much more to come!
Thank you so much for taking the time to do these videos. It is very helpful the way you show actual situations and translate. I can sometimes translate when reading but I can't understand when spoken to. Even when an instructor speaks, I can piece together the information, but they usually speak slow. When native Mexicans speak, it is usually too fast for me to understand. I live in New Mexico, USA and my mom and dad are Spanish. Their first language was Spanish but when they were young, they would get in trouble at school if they didn't speak English. So they taught the kids (me) English and nothing more. I have the accent and I know some basic Spanish but I can't seem to get a grip on the language. I like how you show actual conversations with waiters, sales people, etc., then you break it down. After you slow down the speech, I usually understand. I go back and listen and it helps me to understand when they speak fast. Amazing! I hope you do more videos like this. It really helps. Thank you!
Thanks so much for your support! We have much more to come in this format. In the meantime, you can see all of our other videos in this style here: czcams.com/video/8E0XIF2uJCQ/video.html

Muchas gracias. I will use this with my Spanish 1 and 2 students for our "remote learning" adventures...
So far the best and most user friendly videos I have seen. Plus very practical format between the instructors for easier retention. Now, I believe I can break through the wall that I have hit.
Thanks so much! That means a lot to us. Much more to come soon! Saludos. -Jim
I can’t get over how the direct translation of ‘te encargo’ is ‘I order you’. I found people in Mexico also say “me regalas un/una… por favor” for napkins etc. It feels better to me.
Yeah, I hear you. Not everyone likes it in Mexico either, but it doesn’t sound rude or demanding at all to most Mexicans. As with most things in language, tone and context are important. For example, in English and in Spanish, there are contexts where saying “give me….” when ordering are perfectly acceptable, even though it sounds quite demanding at face value.
You both make learning Spanish very easy! Thank you 😀😀
Awww! ¡Muchas gracias!

*gasppppp* i love this wow im cramming for my spanish test tmrw thank you muchas gracias
Este vídeo me recuerda a cuando yo estaba en España en mi programa del estudio en el extranjero, y mis amigos y yo teníamos que ordenar la comida en varios restaurantes. Recuerdo que no sabíamos ordenar la comida en español, y al principio, ordenábamos la comida por decir "yo quería __". Aprendimos ordenar por decir "Me pones __" o "me traes __", y sentía un poco grosero pedirlo así.
Muey gracias amigos
Glad to find your channel. Funny that it's the second one I've found with a married couple - in both the guy is from the USA and the lady is Latina. Muchas gracias.

Four months ago I watched this video and I couldn't understand anything but por favor!
and today I came here again to see if I made any improvement, actually yes I did and I'm so happy about it
because when I started learning Spanish I couldn't hear the words clearly and I couldn't get anything even while I watched the video three-four times !!
still far away from the goal but I never ever imagine that I could understand any of these videos!

Hay diferentes maneras de ordenar en un restaurante. Depende de la región o país ... Me encantó la escena del video.
Well well it looks like i have found a new favorite Spanish chanel👏🏽
Good video. I will never forget tenedor for fork as, whilst eating steak in Madrid my fork flicked spectacularly out of my hand and onto the next table - fortunately they were friendly Spanish speaking and saw my predicament of not knowing how to ask for replacement fork and kindly got me a new one for me.
Thank you very much guys for your lessons!

Heading to Spain soon. This is a good way to get a taste for ordering. Nicely done.
Thanks for watching! I think the main difference in Spain is that they're more like to say "me trae..." instead of "le encargo," when ordering, but basically everything else in the video applies. Where will you be visiting in Spain? -Jim
Thank you showing me how to order food in Spanish.
Thanks for watching! Let us know if there’s another type of video you’d like us to make to help you learn Spanish. Un saludo. -Jim

It's so great thank you so much
Thank you for creating these videos! They will help me tremendously while teaching Spanish this year. One things, for future, could you combine more ways of saying things depending on the area the speaker is from. For example, you said "te encargo"... when ordering, we can also say "me puede traer" or "quisiera/puedo ordernar". Otherwise, you are doing a fantastic job. Thank you!
