In today's video I show you the magnetic filter system from Freewell which is a completely new approach to how we use filters in the world of filmmaking. I explain in detail how everything works and go out with my friend Kamau in order to test the quality and usability of the different filters (Variable ND, CPL, Mist). After more than a month of shooting with this magnetic filter system I really don't see myself going back to threaded filters as it just massively speeds up my filming workflow. Great video! I've never really used VNDs or CPLs before but I've just bough this kit. My only concern, is that the CPL can only be used without the VND or solely the ND32 with CPL... Does that not come with some restrictions? Like, if I wanted to use a 3 stop with polariser for example? How do you go about that?

Hello Niklas, I've been watching this video a couple of times and I've been thinking to buy these magnetic lenses. Only I am not sure if I can get all the lenses, the base ring and cases via the link in your description. Also, there are 3 different limited editions and I am just struggling to understand which one I should buy. What base ring size should I buy for my Sony a7siii 70mm? Would you be able to help me? Hi Niklas, I use Dji Air 2S to record footage and have recently bought ND Filters. With variable shutter speed and ISO and an nd filter, in some scenes it is perfect but other areas, the shot is highly underexposed. Would you recommend changing the iso or shutter speed to automatic for correct exposure? Thank you

are the vnd bases same size for filter thread of all sizes ? For example, if I have a 77mm filter system, and i want to use it on a 67mm thread size, should I get the 67mm base ring only and the whole system works with it? or should i get a 67-77mm step up ring to and use tha same 77mm base ring?

This is actually an incredibly efficient system.
Great vid as usual! Is it possible to do CPL base + 2-5 ND filter?
No. But you can have "ND32" with CPL. The label is misleading, because with ND32 they mean 5 stops. I have no idea why they kind of mislabeled the filter, when all of the other labels are written in f-stops... But other than that, this is a very reasonable combination in the field, and the whole system is very well thought. And - a bargain!
Like I said before, what I like most about Niklas, is that he explain things step by step, one by one, till you understand everything, and that's amazing bro you should be my history teacher. Is a really cool video with a good explanation. Keep the good work man, Love from West Africa. 🇸🇱🤍

Hello! Can I use these system on Canon R6/R5 camera/lenses?
Would really love this system, but shipping to Germany you'd have to pay around 100€ in fees/tax. Will have to wait for their Amazon shop to have them ready in September :/
Are all the filters the same size as the base plate you choose?
Looks like the filter glass is 2 size larger than the base glass/ring, meaning my existing 82mm Freewell filters won't work on this system that has 82mm filter thread.

Can you mount a classic uv filter with this system ? Because if you need to switch at one moment for taking picture with out taking the risk directly on the front glass, how do you deal ?
