I’m planning to use IEW for the first time this upcoming school year! She’ll be in 4th, so we’ll be using 1A, and I think we’re going to use Fix It for the first time, too.
@@EducationalRoots thank you! That is so good to know! I’ve been nervous about making the change, but what we were using was just not working for my daughter, but everything I’ve seen /read IEW seems great.
IEW is always a winner! I flipped through some of their updated items at a convention a few days ago. Mr. Pudewa was there as well. NICE Video. (is that a banned word, lol 🤣.
thank you! there are not as many videos on level B as there are on level A. I'm stuck deciding whether I want to use 1A for my rising 4th, 5th, and 6th graders or if I want to use it for the two younger and 1B for 6th. 😅
@@CalmintheChaosHomeschool thank you for your advice! I think I'll do all 3 then...I need to learn this process too! One level at a time would probably be in the best interest of us all
Have you ever done 2A? Im trying to decide whether we could go straight to 1B. We did 1A previously but took a break this year. If you did 2A, do you think there is anything in it that we couldn't miss in order to do 1B? Thanks!
If my son started 1A in 3rd grade should I now start him on level b since he will begin middle school? We were doing the theme based IEW for 4th and 5th .
I have a son who is between 7th/8th grade.... but we were gifted level 1A of IEW. I hate to pass up on free curriculum, but I also want to do what is best for my son. Any thoughts or guidance you can give?
Since the levels all teach the same units, do you need to do this every year?? Seems like you could start where needed and then go without IEW after that, unless you want to review the concepts in later years…
You would want to go through tears 1 and 2 of whatever level (A, B, C) that’s you’re in, but don’t necessarily need to do it every year. I think 7-8th or 9th-10th is the perfect time to do it, personally.
@@EducationalRoots that makes sense for the video lessons. Now I’m curious about the themed ones. We currently are using All Things Fun and Fascinating.
Used this last year for joslyn and she loved it. She will be doing it again this year as well as Emma!
Love your excitement 🤗 thanks for the video!!!
Hehe, thanks for watching!
thank you so much for a look through!!
YW!

That’s awesome! 4th is a great grade to start IEW.

@@EducationalRoots we're new to IEW so we haven't done anything yet.
@@peachy_reina Ohhh, I understand! Sorry! Forget what I said LOL. You could really go either way then.
@@peachy_reina You can't really go wrong with IEW. Great choice!
Honestly, I’d just do it with all the kids (level a). Its more about learning the system when you first start.

I haven't. :(

Yes, I would do 1B in 6th, then 2B in 7th.
We just started 1 A. What do I buy next, 2A or 1 B? What is the difference between 1 A and 1 B? Thanks for the video.
Hi! Level A is for 3rd-5th. Level B is for 6th-8th and Level C is for 9th-12th. If you do 1A, you will want to do 2A next. 1A is year one of level A.

Really, the difference is just in the reading level for the most part. It’s fine. :)
We completed 1A today 😊
Which one do I buy next??
My kids are 5th and 6th.
2A :)
Did they discontinue fix it grammar ?
a few weeks ago while I was going to place my order it didn’t give me the option to purchase the fix it grammar.
They didn’t discontinue it but they revamped it. I will post a link.
@@EducationalRoots please do and thank you

You can also switch to the theme based books
