If you listen to the Hank Snow original, and by the way elvis and Hank were freinds, then you realize how good Elvis was at changing the arrangement to make it his own. class

The bass part in there is not Elvis but, one of the bass singers he began with. Later, JD Sumner took over as the bass singer. I also recorded a short version of "Man Of Constant Sorrow" I heard a version of an Acapella group singing that song and recorded the last verse, which was a bass part
Elvis asked one of the Jordanaires to sing the opening lyrics because he felt it would add to the song. The Jordanaire himself didn't really think his voice was right for it, but Elvis insisted.
