Way back in 2011 I was a tech entrepreneur, it was a *very wild ride* from zero to hero aaaaand back to zero and below.
As soon as I could stand up I went to work at a small bodega pushing boxes around. Then I got a better job, so on and so forth.
There's no shame, everyone should understand that, even if you have a degree, and you "acted rich", you can pull yourself back up if you humble yourself.

People think that being Christian means cramming the Bible in someone’s ears and never messing up. The church isn’t full of saints, it’s full of sinners at the doctor. Us Christians just want others to experience the joy we’ve found. And boy what a joyous ride it is! You do an awesome job of fitting Christ into your message and still getting people to stick around to hear it. Love what you do!

My girlfriend walked out on me because I refused to have payments. I stuck to my guns and it cost me a relationship. I’m still deciding if it was worth it

Well, as DR has reported the #1 cause of divorce in America is money fights .... seems to me you just saved yourself a lot of heartache later down the line - so ask and divorced families if they had to do it over ...? . (also an old boomer)

This is a large thing to disagree on. It would have severed your relationship sooner or later. It’s probably best that it happened sooner, even though I know it’s hard. Take care and best of luck to you in the future.

I’m 22 and I love listening to Dave Ramsey. He speaks of a philosophy I already had before I started listening to him but he helps me actually IMPLEMENT that philosophy into my life and behavior. I recently graduated college, am about to get married and buy a house and have $25k in savings. It’s all hard work and living below your means. It’s all about driving an old car and cooking at home and not going to expensive vacations.
Dave is extremely wise. People who disagree with his philosophy of financial independence are the ones that refuse to live below their means and refuse to give up things that give them instant gratification.

I really appreciate your advice, Dave. I've come to the realization that you are explaining the system, and how to be successful in it. I can imagine many young people are fed up with the system, per se. That may be where the angst comes from.
