The spark plugs on this car are located behind the first part of the intake manifold . Remember to check the gap size of the spark plug and inspect the end of it for any kind of deposits which will diminish the spark .
This process will be similar on other Honda Civic with a 4 cylinder engine .

Good, easy to follow video. But, holy crap, this is an involved process just to change sparkplugs!

Or you could just use the access panel that Honda created for you. Take off the centre section of the black trim at the bottom of the screen, remove the silver access panel and bingo loads of room.

I tried this but you need to remove quite a bit more. Like the windshield wipers. I think it's easier on the 8th gen civic.
I got the 9th gen 2012 like in the video.

OMG I hate the hectic method of changing plugs on this model. I am glad that I got the ninth generation.

Where did you get the specs for that spark plug gap from? I got the ngk plugs for my 1.4 Civic but everyone online seem to all give different gap sizes.

From some database . A good rule of thumb, if the engine is not turbocharged the gap is always less tha 1 mm

@@doit_vehicles the engine has the exact layout tho, big 4 inlet manifold on the front, engine oil cap to the left and plastic air box leading to pipes with the 4 coils around the back. I am looking to do my spark plugs myself and there is no video available online for the MK8 1.4 Civic EU model

@@trick_show9469 yes, it is the same engine. Those engines are the only ones fully Made in Japan.
