Administration of suppository is a newly added skill from November 2022. Allotted time -10 mins.
Materials Required for the procedure:
*Prescription chart(legible,valid and complete)
*Disposable gloves
*Apron
*Incopad/absorbent
*Gauze piece /Tissue paper
*Bed pan/Commode /Easy access to toilet.

Hi, No need for leaflet, read the instructions on your Medication chart. If not stated, just verbalise the end you are using is according to manufacturer's instructions.

You need to perform hand hygiene as required; this includes when meeting your patient, when leaving your patient's side, and when you get back to your patient.

You don't have too,just ensure you verbalize that you're checking for any sign of skin soreness, excoriation, haemorrhoid or rectal prolapse before you administer the suppository.
