They did it again! F&F took a song I never particularly liked and have turned it into my favorite song. I really don’t know how they keep doing that! Sammie’s voice is phenomenal but enough to turn a boring song into a favorite? I don’t know exactly what magic is going on here but keep doing it!
Yep. you need to give every song they do a chance, even if its not necessarily your kind of music. They've surprised me a few times also.
At 1:20 I love how Sammy smiles at her father and he smiles back as she sings she learned a thing or two from you. Special relationship for sure.

I’m 77 and have followed F&F for years, but this…this song is my favorite of all they’ve done. A great song from the 70’s, performed by the incomparable blood harmony of Tim and Sammie. Music doesn’t get much better than this, in my humble opinion.

"Blood harmony"; I LOVE it! This young 64-year old punk is going to have to borrow that from you! I can make a lot of hay with sharp, concise terms like that. Btw, I agree with you about this band's quality.
Blood harmony: A musical term that refers to the tight, almost inseparable vocal harmonies generated by members of the same family. It’s usually referred to as sibling harmony, like the Everly Brothers were. I prefer the term blood harmony because you often see it other family member vocals, like the father-daughter harmonies seen here with Tim and Sammie.

Sammie just keeps getting better with age like a fine wine , we all know she holds all the voices together. just love the smug little smile at the end when she knows she nailed it !
She doesn't sing lead as much, but her skill in harmonizing is not to be overlooked. It is Sammie's voice that elevates the F&F music to another level (IMO), as she makes everyone else sound better! What a skill to have...thank you for sharing this lovely skill with us Sammie!
@@infrequentgamer_greg When young people are handed the gift of extraordinary talent from the gene pool it's hard for them to realize that what they have is rare. As intelligent as she is even at 27ish? I don't think she grasps what she has. Sometimes Sammie doesn't seem so enthusiastic to be singing with the group, but when she finds a song she likes she raises the performance to another level of perfection. I just hope she continues to share her unique talents with us.

I was a kid when the Everly Brothers sang this and a young man when Emmylou and Gram hit the charts. Now as a fossil myself, and Sammie being my favorite Fox, I just smile and say, "Yup, they did it again"! God given talent not wasted! (a lot of work on your part too)

Huge fan of Emmylou Harris and Gram Parsons, and this was their best song together. Tim and Sammie do a wonderful job of singing and the whole arrangement is perfect. What a great family connection!
Missing the pedal steel guitar though, which is a huge ingredient in the Gram and Emmylou version that was on their Grievous Angel album

All of the F&F covers are incredible, but there are a few that just absolutely grab you from the first note. Suite Judy Blue eyes and Neal Young's Harvest Moon are two that come to mind. Now, for me, you can add Love Hurts to that list. Perfect, perfect harmonies. Wonderful.

Sammie's vocal range & style fit perfectly with much of the 90's country. Some phrasing in this song remind me of Patty Loveless. Like how Sammie crosses her fingers at the end I'm guessing, hoping it meets with Dad's approval.

I absolutely love Foxes and Fossils. Hardly a day goes by without listening to them. Love Hurts is now one of their top songs. I think it gets better every time I listen to it. This, in my opinion, is Sammy's BEST song. She is great on all the others, but this is a song with her singing in a different range. Wonderful music!!! Such talent in the entire group.
To sing a song this beautifully, you have to have the talent, and then you have to know exactly how to deliver the words ! Excellent performance !
