That plug is for remote lights for the light that goes on the vehicle your towing.
If you can't bring Scan Tools, be cool if they would scan the codes for you and add them to the listings
That Versa is definitely a CVT. Also something to look out for, Nissan had a recall on certain models of the Versa, Sentra, and Juke for transmission issues that caused jerking and slipping while driving. That one probably already had the issue fixed, but just a warning. Otherwise it would make a great car! Maybe try to find a Versa Note SL to give her something slightly nicer with Navigation and woodgrain and such, but other than that, its a great idea!
When I was learning how to drive, I'd floor it out of every red light, and out of the school parking lot everyday 😂. I bet that CVT wouldn't last a month

Also can't forget that those have Jatko transmissions, some of the worst transmissions ever built come from them. They break all the time usually from 120-160k miles. That's the only reason I would steer clear of any Nissans with them.
As a tow truck operator for the last 6 years I love the latest tow trucks and stuff you’ve had on the channel! And the tow mate is a wireless receiver that goes into the truck end and a wireless magnetic bar that goes into the car in tow..I wonder why that truck was there?! I’d kill for that lol
The TowMate transmitter is for the towing lights you place on the car you are towing. There will be a trailer receptacle on the deck/rear skirt of the wrecker body. The receptacle is by the left hand safety chain hook, just seen it.

Those versas came with a 5 speed manual, 4 speed automatic, or a cvt. if it has the cvt run away and don’t look back. I also heard something about those focuses having bad transmission problems as well

I love the dealer auto auctions great facility plus you can test drive the vehicles. IAA and Copart walk arounds are cool and you can find unique stuff there too but this auction set up is awesome. Keep up the great work and hope your allergies clear up quickly for you.
I love these walkarounds more than the others as #1, we get to see a test drive, #2 these cars out here are something you can actually make a profit and a living selling etc. #3, you seem to enjoy doing these ones much better. I enjoy the content a lot more when the person filming it is happy.

Randy's Repo's!!! Tow truck was pretty cool, I used to watch a repo guy on CZcams for a long time before he pretty much ruined his life, really sucks because he was damn good at his job but what can you do. Keep up the great work Randy!

The thing you took out of the door is for a magnetic light bar, thats is used for your turn signals and lights on the vehicle you're towin.
I am fine with either or walk around. And I hear you with the allergies thing. Yesterday mine were bad but it didn’t help that I mowed and weeded yesterday lol

I think that tow truck would be a great tool for you Randy. Keep the other Ram to pull a regular trailer and use the tow truck for quick local/in-state towing.

That little towmate thing is the wireless receiver for the light bar for the cars you're towing it's got a little slot it plugs into on the back of the truck

I think that little plug is for your remote your lights that you put on the car in tow so no wires to string out

I love these videos, definitely cool to see some clean stuff. But trying to figure our why certain cars were at copart was also entertaining. I’ll watch either way, but I would enjoy the occasional copart/IAA
The tow plug you found in the door, is a remote for a light-bar, that you put on the back of the towed vehicle.
This channel offers both insight into newer no damage visible cars etc and also ones that require work to be done.
As a wholesale dealer Randy has the choice and opportunity to view / record both as some like to see both sides of the same coin
I personally don't have issues with Randy showing visibly undamaged cars on the channel.

I must agree all he does is just show cars I miss when he used to pick him up out and Indiana from his uncle's house or his grandparents house or whatever I miss those and when he get a car and he didn't know if it would make it those were interesting these to get kind of old after a while.
I had a 2015 Versa Note for a number of years. They don't make them any more. I believe 2019 was the last year. Yes, the transmission is CVT but with a traditional fixed ratio first gear. I appreciated this detail because I find the noticeable shifting of gears comforting versus a continuously variable ratio. It's unsettling not to know what gear you are in. Mileage is incredible on these little 1.6L engines. Like 40 highway or more. I found the SL trim to be much more comfortable than the SV because of improvements in the seats. SL also comes with a Tech package. I sold mine to someone who needed their first car! It's a solid option for sure. Subaru or Honda or Toyota might do better in the crash safety department, but this is a solid option. I really enjoy your work. I'm happy for you to visit whichever lot serves you best!

Enjoy either walk arounds, but it's good not knowing if you buy something your not getting ripped off by those Copart fees!
Also the fact you can drive the car makes the difference!
Hello Randy. The 2019 Ram 4500 wrecker is a great looking truck that you should bid on. The 2021 Ram 1500 Rebal is a great looking truck.
2016 Nissan versa is absolutely a Jacko CVT. Are usually good for about 80,000 miles. You could tell when you took it to the test track the way it rubber band revved out and then did the whole fake shifting thing. 100% CVT
Hi Randy, I have a nissan versa with cvt transmission, no problems, if the fluid and filters are changed you should be good to go

The versa is definitely a cvt transmission, it is driving normal, they added a simulated shift to it. It's a good car as long as the maintenance on the transmission has been and will be done
Yeah on the Nissan versa note... that is a CVT Transmission. Brought one for my daughter but was 2015. First car& yet curb hoping blowing tires dents,scratches. Freshman in college. There you have it.

Though I do love these dealer walk around, I do miss the Copart and IAA walkaround since they came with some very interesting/older finds. I don't mind either (I'll watch both) so keep doing what you love Randy!
The motor on the Versa would be fine, but the CVTs are notorious for failure. The shifting is normal, as my ex's Civic CVT and my Crosstrek CVT all shift fairly similar.
To get heat in my truck in cold New England winters I had to cover my entire radiator. One 7 degree night on a 100 mile trip to Providence RI and back, that 195 thermostat never opened.
It’s the versa and the qasqais that shift like that we had one and it always shifts so slow same with the qashqaj but they are good for beginners because of the low response time
My grandma had a 2014 Versa Note. But hers didn't have the simulated shifting. That 2016 has the simulation. And hers also had that same whine sound.
Drove the car 90k miles trouble free before it got rear ended. But yeah they are good little cars.

Some newer cars with cvt's have steps "gears" programmed into the tcu so as to give a sense of a geared trans.
I have One but it's a turbo diesel 1.5 and still have it what a great econo box car and reliable, mine is a manual 5 speed but there's a CVT gasoline model

II know it's heavy but I would like you to be able to jump the cars like that caliper that would have been a nice one to see how it ran it was pretty clean and I'd like the look of those cars to? always thought they had a good styling to them?
How long ago did you see these vehicles? That Rebel is at our auction now. I had to inspect it this morning and the Check Engine light is cleared.

I love the ability to test drive on site. That's advantage #1, I'd keep doing it there. The Versa would make her a good car.
