    Glad you're feeling better Randy! Lots of work to put a lift on IFS Chevys. Coming along good!

      I figured they would be the worst part. I have been spraying them with Blaster since I got the truck. They are still seized on the keys. I feel pretty good now. Still not picking up really heavy stuff though.

      mossman381 better off not picking anything up for a little bit. I threw my back out and it never was the same again

      Hard not to pick up stuff while installing a lift kit :) I hurt my back when I was a kid so I know what you mean about not being the same again. I thought I hurt it just as bad as before but only had one really bad day. I am taking it as easy as I can :)

      mossman381 hear ya there. I pulled my back out doing a tuneup on an 3.4 l motor in a Pontiac aztec. I crawled out from under the car and could not get up.

      @mossman381  Před 7 lety

      I couldn't stand up straight the first day I hurt my back. It's scary to think you might not be able to walk around normal or even pick up small things.

    It's great to see you back at her even with your back injury. I really enjoy watching your videos. I think the 2500hd will look really amazing once the lift is installed, especially with the new tires and Black Rhino Rims. I also really like the way those smoked tail lights look on it.

      With how rusty the truck is I think it went better than I expected. The install instructions have pissed me off a few times but that's the way it goes with something this big I guess :)

    You should order up and install a Cognito PISK kit for your steering. it really helps with larger tires and or 4x4 operation under power

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  Před 7 lety

      I have the Cognito steering braces and bigger tie rod ends on the dually and they are awesome. They aren't cheap though. When I have the funds I will probably be getting them.

    I just put on a 6 inch rough country lift on my 01 2500hd. This is my 2nd kit from them i had a 6+3 on my 04 1500. I love the kit. But shocks that come with it are kinda weak. Im going billstins or fox shocks. Im doing a 3 inch body lift and 37s with bush wacker cut out flares.

      @mossman381  Před 7 lety

      You are not going to get the truth out of anybody about a vehicle. I have been lied to on every vehicle purchase I have ever made. You need to look at the vehicle really good and let it tell you how it was taken care of.

    • @abrennhofer09
      @abrennhofer09 Před 7 lety

      mossman381 last truck I looked at barely had enough gas for a test drive and it was at a dealer. Once brakes were pressed down halfway, it became all slush. He claimed to know nothing about it since he just got the truck in. The next truck I looked at there, he claimed to not know any history of the truck and knew nothing about it since it just got there. Apparently everything just got there. Very fishy.

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  Před 7 lety

      The "I don't know much about the vehicle guy". I wouldn't buy anything they had for sale unless you look it over and are confident you know what all the issues are.

  • @nmalloy69
    @nmalloy69 Před 7 lety

    My trick for torsion bars is to drill 3 small pilot hole across your old key. Don't drill all the way through. While key is under load take an air chisel to the pilot holes and the key will pop. I didn't have luxury of a lift to get a good hammer swing.

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  Před 7 lety

      I need the keys for the lift so I can't destroy them. This lift reuses the factory keys.

    Do they salt you're roads? I don't seem to see the rust as much as i do here in upstate NY where I'm from. If you do get salted, what do you use to protect the bottoms of you're trucks? looking at cleaning up and rust-proofing my truck.

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  Před 7 lety

      They salt the roads badly here. I am using Fluid Film right now for rust protection inside the rockers and anywhere else I do rust repair. The rust free bed I have for this project will also be getting Fluid Film under it.

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  Před 7 lety +1

      I have needle scaled the front of the frame and painted with some rustoleum industrial paint. May go with some POR15 as some point. The frame is what you would expect from a Wisconsin truck but it's solid. Not building a show truck here just a good daily driver and making some videos.

    • @KevinBigg
      @KevinBigg Před 7 lety

      mossman381 does por 15 stay better when you scale the frame?. i sand blasted my wheels and painted them with por15 about 2 years ago and its starting to chip off.

    hows the lift been treating you?

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  Před 6 lety

      Good so far. I still have a vibration or something but I think it's the tires. Only thing I don't like is my turning radius is terrible now. Not sure why they changed the steering knuckles.

    • @trombone901
      @trombone901 Před 6 lety

      would you recommend a lift over a leveling kit? I recently bought an lb7 and it has a leveling kit, but its done wrong and the angles on the front end are horrible and it rides like crap. thinking about just doing a 4 or 6 inch lift so i can keep my 35s that are on it now and im also hoping for a better ride.

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  Před 6 lety

      The ride didn't change with the lift kit. This crew cab short bed rides stiffer than my crew cab dually. Not really sure why except the dually is longer. Not sure how you got 35s under just a leveled truck. I had to trim some bumper even with the 6" lift kit. The 6" lift makes the truck huge. I don't think a lift kit will give you a better ride. It will help the angles of the CV axles.

    • @mossman381
