- Today we go over a better way of doing a JDAM Ripple attack in the Harrier. This procedure is pretty simple and a lot better than creating mark points. This is an updated video from the one I put out previously that was early access :)
This can be used with the DMT or the TPOD but it's best used with a TPOD to get better accuracy.

In this AV-8B Harrier JDAM Ripple Tutorial, we'll be learning how to use the digital combat simulator, DCS World, to fly and launch a ripple bomb from an AV-8B Harrier.
This tutorial is updated for DCS World v1.5.4 and includes new information about the AV-8B Harrier's JDAM capabilities. So if you're a fan of DCS World, be sure to check out this tutorial and learn how to use the AV-8B Harrier's JDAM ripple bomb! - Hry
Follow along with the mission file I used here.

Every time I switch back to the harrier I give this a watch. JDAMs are so useful.
As someone who was experimenting yesterday with getting 1 JDAM to land on target... this is jaw dropping.
Thanks for the updated video.
The Harrier can put down a surprising amount of hurt for it's size.
I like having every module to play with so i really appreciate guys like you that keep track of the insane ammount of information.
Cheers!
If you bind the TOO and ENT UFC buttons to your HOTAS this becomes the most OP targeting system ever.
You can use the same system to make markpoints and waypoints, just choose that option on the ODU after you press TOO. It will remember this mark type for subsequent presses, so you need to remember to change it back afterwards or there's a risk of overwriting all your waypoints.
Access your videos through shorts on the AV8B. I also have my channel and I am a big fan of AV8B in the DCS and your videos help me improve and even learn new techniques to use the tools that this excellent module offers us.
As a request, I would love one on how to land on aircraft carriers, since it is still something that I don't get the hang of.
Excellent channel, greetings.
Thank you for making this video tutorial covering the AV-8B JADAM ripple mode Tricker.
We love you, thank you.
Is what the people who originally moaned about it should be saying.
Best explanation I have seen, i actually managed to hit some targets.
We always appreciate up to date intel. Cheers. Keep up the good work.
Great update Tricker! Thanks for making it and sharing it with us! I never knew it could be that easy! Cool stuff!
Your the best man! Props to you for staying on top of this ever changing module. Razbam seriously needs to pull it together and get this thing finished. You seriously deserve a medal for this lol.
I bought the Harrier 3 days ago, this is amazing, can't wait to use it!
Great stuff, Tricker.
What an excellent tutorial! Your videos increase my interest for the Harrier again!
Thanks a bunch for this to the point and short tutorial 👍
My first jdam ripple, cheers Tricker, good job. 🙂
Great video! Thank you so much!
Absolutely insane!
Awesome tutorial !
Ripple my pickle! Great updated tutorial!
Thank you for that explanation. I always thought dropping multiple JDAMs with AV8B is kinda tiresome compared to F18/F16, but this is really cool. :D
currently Learning the Av8! thanks
I spent hours figuring this out on my own because I couldn’t find a video on it anywhere. Now I go looking for using the CAS page to set up target runs and I find this masterpiece. If we not I saw this 4 hours ago 😤
Hey Tricker,
just wanted to say I really appreciate how concise and lean your tutorials are. I am getting back into DCS after a 3 year hiatus and re-learning with you has been a blast.
Glad you like them!
Wow, thank you!!!
I can't really articulate how satisfying that drop and pop was...4ooo Lbs. 4 seconds...awesome.
great video
Nice thanks vid
Cap: Makes a Harrier TGP tutorial that gets outdated when a new openbeta is released two weeks afterwards. The video stays up for months.
Tricker: makes a slight error, fixes the video in one day.
Gotta have the correct information up 👀
Tricker giving the Harrier some love 👍.. just wish Razbam would 😕
Thanks. I like that you add a mission file. Is Scud launcher in the default DCS inventory or an add-onn? I couldn't find it when setting up a mission.
Thanks dad x
❤️❤️❤️
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. After I f10 and pin targets. I go to my knee board and try to transfer the targets by RAlt RSft and 8 and nothing transfers...any ideas why?
Theres probably an easy answer to it but how do you proceed once you have already destroyed 10 TOOs? I cant select targets past X but my TOO increments keep going up
does this mean you can break lock after you ripple the jdams?.. whole idea of jdam is that they should navigate towards a point designated by the plane but guided by satelite info gps to the location ergo you can break lock and leave right?
How do you make that beautiful DCS screen? I want mine to say Tricker too.
I'll make you one
Nice video dude. Can I ask what the difference is with the 'Dice' modules on your DCS front page?
That’s a mod for custom counter measures so I don’t have to program them every time.
@@TrickerDCS Ah, I see. Makes perfect sense! ;)
So just to clarify. Do ppl seguest having it checked for easy mode or not? And to expand on my question what exactly is the difference?
Mine is unchecked
Nice tutorial (as all made by you, short but clear) but: if we tick "easy mode" doesn,t the simulator turns to be a game becoming unrealistic ?
Thanks! I leave the box unchecked so I can have the sim be as realistic as possible
how to delete TOO again?
Hey! THanks for this updated video. I can do everything here except when im in the zone my bombs dont release when ive pressed pickle... :-/
Make sure master arm is on, you're in a/g mode, and you select all the targets on the left side so they should be displayed in the HUD
@@TrickerDCS It was my nozzles were at 10.
1:37 the video starts
Sorry Tricker, I can´t get Tpod as SOI, after Sensor Selector Down (not Aft) twice, it remains "INS 1688'; and I still use with "easy mode" box unchecked. I also tried with box checked with the same result, Tpod is not displayed. I tried even with a keyboard bind but it doesn´t work either. (EDIT: Problem solved)
I flew it the previous update and was able to have it work still with sensor select press twice in a row. I’m on a trip right now and haven’t had a chance to check out the new update
Hi @@TrickerDCS Sorry, it had nothing to do with the version, I went back to version 2.81 and for some reason now it doesn't work either...It's so weird, even using the default keyboard bind (with no Hotas, pedal connected) it doesn´t work. Thanks!
@@xdiver01 interesting, I’ll take a look when I get home because I know it was working the last update. You’re just having issues getting the TPOD to display in your MFD?
Hi @@TrickerDCS , problem SOLVED! 👍The culprit was an USB device connected that somehow interfered with the command(s) and which curiously only interfered with the Harrier. Thanks and by the way, great video as always! 👍
@@xdiver01 awesome, glad to hear you figured it out
hi only 4 jdams shows up in the mission
Thanks for bringing this to my attention, it was recently changed in a patch
