That was my ship. Gunners Mate 1979 - 1982. Home port at that time was Terminal Island, San Pedro. If anyone has seen, or remembers my artwork in the Armory, drop me a line. SEMPER PURATUS !
Nice story about the Venturous but the first of the video shot, thats the Resolute. tied up in St Pete, south peir. Was the TCIC in 97-99. Our slogan back then was "Roach Coach" and "No party too large, no party too small". We seemed to get picked to "host" parties a lot. Mex, NOLA and even Jamaica's chili cook-off in 98. Had a great radio gang. @3:00.. 50 People? Only 50? Took me back to when we brought 300 onboard and put the other 50 on the Gentian who followed us all the way to PAP, offloaded and we all headed back to Ste Pete and Gentian back to Miami. I still have a copy of the message in my service jacket. Boat stunk like some ones underarm for a week, even after a full bleach washdown.
I know that is the back of my FS son's head at 24-27 seconds. Tk you for posting this, Mr. Eblin. I just got 3 seconds of my son. You have no idea what it means me.
Yep, the Rootie-toot moored right were I left it, in 1998. Retired off that boat aka, "party boat", "Roach coach". Our ships crest that was on our shirts use to have flags that said "No Bar Too Far". Now, that could mean the type of bar you drink at or the one that would end your career if you ran over it. X-TCIC sends.
@MrJustdaman11 He was just a certified "Cutter Swimmer" When I was on that boat they had roughly 3 to 5 that were always qualified for the job. The guy in the water is an E3 that was interested in going AST so what better way than to qualify as a swimmer..
question...im being recruited in the USCG duhh hehe...what i wanna do in the coast guard is be onboard on of the cutters like all my carrier if its possible..the question is..what MOS should i choose in order to serve onboard of one of the cutters?!!

@3:32.. That sound from the MDE's will always be stuck in my head. Every time you transited to the flight deck, you heard it. Resolute - TCIC 97-98

There is always something to do on a Coast Guard Cutter.
Hes on board the Venturous looking at the Resolute as they go by
They can't go by too far, they are about to run out of water. Venturous normally tide up BEHIND the Rootie Toot.
Interesting, I was on a 210 for 3yrs and never saw compartment 4-32-0-A. Unless your gym is in the bilge.
+Anthony Iannacito Vigorous WMEC 627 74'-77' What gym? The refit of the exhaust stacks is very different though.
