Thank you Mr. French. I had a friend who passed a few years ago who would have loved this. Perhaps she is enjoying it now as much as I did. Thank you, sir. Thank you very much.

Hang in there StutleyConstable. Dickens will always be a great antidote against the blues during the holidays.

    This is wonderful.
I would have thought that an American accent would have spoiled such and English classic, but no! Your delivery rises far above such petty considerations!
    Thanks for the upload.

Thanks, Offshore. My estimation of Charles Dickens' brilliance is off the charts after attempting this narration. A native British speaker would be best, but yes, you can transcend that consideration if you relish the telling and let C.D.'s marvelous prose pull you along.

Interesting to note that the ghost in the white waistcoat is thought by some to be a briefly appearing character from Oliver Twist, known only as the "Gentleman in the white waistcoat." He's a board member of the workhouse that Oliver lives in and is entirely unsympathetic to Oliver's plight.

Back in Dickens's time, a lot of people would have pronounced that word as something like "weskit" not "waistcoat".
