Brian- Thought Monster is a bit of sci-fi antique-but entertaining. I think the movie adaptation, FIEND WITHOUT A FACE (1958) admirably enlarged its themes and brought in some plausible explanations for the mechanics of the monster. E.E.F.

It's a fantastic story, original in nature. A mixer between science fiction, psychological, and supernatural horror that I never knew could exist- Not to mention that Amelia is describing a psychologic poltergeist, if I am not mistaken.
It's intriguing.....we're left wondering what sort of creature is this psychic vampire? Certainly not a traditional poltergeist. E.E.F.

A spellbinding, old-fashioned horror story straight from the pages of Weird Tales. The background music is strong and compelling. The story was eerie in itself. Long was an underrated and ignored writer of her time. 🙀

I have always wanted to read it myself, but was never able to find a copy in print (I'm sure Forry Ackerman had at the March, 1930 edition of Weird Tales in his collection). Your narration has a sinister lilt to it that reminds me of Vincent Price. Kudos to you! BTW, did you ever do any physical Effects for Empire Films back in the '80's?

In Tibetan mysticism there is the belief in tulpas. They are thought forms created by concentration. Supposedly, they can become independent. On an episode of Supernatural, the Winchesters dealt with one. I have an idea for a story about one I intend to write when I have time.
Love it from the first sentence! Fiendish, audacious! And it’s not just monstrous but exceptionally impatient to get things going pronto! The mayor goes down with barely an honourable mention or ceremony! Who gives a damn? Even when he’s dug up and meddled with? Nope! And we don’t particularly notice when the town council gets together and gets mangled…no more spoilers! But if you are the sort of character who wearies of lengthy dramas that while clever might last several hours too long you’ll love this! EF delivers this delightful romp with impeccable neutrality. And lots of excited voices.
