  • Naturalist and ringing specialist for peregrines in South West England, Ed Drewitt describes himself as a wildlife detective and his investigations have certainly uncovered marital strife, infidelity, attempted murder, intrepid exploration and sheer bloody mindedness when it comes to Salisbury Cathedral’s peregrines.
In this session the author of the Urban Peregrine talks about what we have learnt from ringing and GPS tagging the falcons at Salisbury Cathedral, from night-time hunting missions by street light to the story of Peter, one of the Cathedral’s first chicks, who was shot in Hampshire but recovered and went on to raise his own family, safely monitored in a quarry not so far away.
You can watch the Salisbury peregrines live during their breeding season here

Really interesting. Been watching the Salisbury Peregrines since they hatched so this extra information is great. Thank you so much for enriching my lockdown experience!
