Yaofu Zhou Yaofu Zhou I imagine in the cold rush elements like fluidity and line choice aren't as important. Here it seems like whoever does the craziest drop or trick wins even if there's a huge back slap, whereas if in the tour you had the same tactic, you won't do very well, as you are severely marked down for small mistakes. for that reason I prefer the World Tour, because they try to have clean runs, whereas the riding here is big and kinda sloppy. also another thing to keep in mind is that the runs on the tour are much longer vertically.
my thoughts the same. I learnt about FWT years before I heard of cold rush. I was wondering why is FWT under Swatch and not redbull or something. Then I saw cold rush and I was like oh here is why :D
Well both cold rush and fwt are small, only a few thousand people watch each one, so red bull does not have much to gain by sponsoring the ftw, because snowboarding and skiing is already saturated with red bull endorsements, whereas swatch ONLY really have ftw, and a handful of other riders, so it makes sense for them to sponsor something which is medium in size. And also cold rush is a red bull event, while ftw is not a swatch event, just sponsored by it. and red bull is quite involved in the verbier extreme though; there is quite a lot of red bull advertising around the town and it is streamed on red bull tv.
